Hard to know how things will go in the short term because he's inherited abit of a shambles. All he can really do at this time of the year with so many games is to keep it simple, get them organised and stop conceding so many goals. Give the talent up front an opportunity to win games 1 or 2 nil. You won't start playing champagne football all of a sudden. Tuchel had to do something similar at Chelsea last season, he made them hard to beat and they won a lot of games narrowly.
The winter break should be fucking cancelled for this lot and they should be on the training pitch because they really need it. Don't care if it has to be warm weather training because the players need one on one time with the coach to start absorbing some of his ideas.

Two things I liked the most: "We." - Rolled off the tongue effortlessly, perfect. "The DNA of this club is winning." - Marker down. Noticed the "We" comment straight away. Very pleasing.

I really appreciate his honest and accurate assessment of the task at hand. It gives more confidence hearing the manager speak truthfully about the situation than to hear a lot of nonsense positive crap about “DNA.”

Empathize with Ralf, lived in UK for uni for a year in the late 80s and love England. His impeccable English and clear explanations of problem areas while still emphasizing the quality of the squad is encouraging. Would love it if the players responded like when Jose left, but need to wait for his ideas to bear fruit. This guy is clearly cerebral like Pep and if he does actually get the control to reform this club it could be great move long term. Also liked it when he stated this could be a 18 month managing role.
Don’t discount the fact that he talked directly w Joel Glazer for 30 minutes. Talking directly to him and bypassing Ed/Murtough to get what he wants could be the difference. Been hoping the success in Tampa nfl team lights a fire for trophies at United for the owners. If we don’t win anything in 18 months but those two are replaced by football men that don’t spout DNA, then that will be a huge step forward. Still can’t. But hope we see Ralf and Ronnie push the standards immediately and see a thumping of Palace.

Comments below are music to my ears. RR has a clear idea of how he wants to play.
'For me, the question was how do we get pressure on the ball, how do we get control? So I decided to play 4-2-2-2 with two strikers, not Cristiano alone up front, together with Marcus [Rashford], using pace for vertical balls"
'At the same time, with Jadon [Sancho] and Bruno on the two 10 positions, for the rest [of the players] it was the same.
'We had enough space with Bruno and Jadon in those 10 positions for our full-backs to play forward and ask for the ball on the wing.
'They [Bruno and Sancho] almost played like wing-backs. Especially in the first-half, Alex [Telles] and Diogo [Dalot], did extremely well offensively and that's why I played 4-2-2-2. I'm a big fan of every player plays in his best possible position.'

The last three years have been the same regurgitated PR-esque pressers. It is great to see actual football being talked about again in these things.

I hope he is better than his CV shows… Edit: I am trusting Ralf’s judgment on this one and dreaming of ten Hag at the end of the season…

Jesse Marsch, just sacked by Leipzig, being linked too. Not sure what to feel about that. I'll trust Ralf though, man knows his stuff.

I think it is hard to persuade people to join what could just be a 6 month project with any successor likely to want to bring in his own backroom. So if there are people out there who have worked with RR before and understand his methods and what he is trying to achieve I am happy to overlook and underwhelming CVs. Especially when you consider our existing coaching staff.
