Our midfield is something I will take into account against Liverpool, Bayern, real, chelsea, city etcAgainst Newcastle it should not be an issue. Bruno can’t still be tired, is it the change in formation? I hate the arms in the air stuff, save that for the dressing room. They are all so disappointing it’s beyond a joke now. The only person getting a pass is DDG the rest need to think very hard as to why they cannot string basic passes together, why they keep losing the ball, why they can’t do some basics. I for one looked forward to this game but once again it’s just disappointing. Ralf get concerned, nothing to lose so drop whomever you wish to drop but before that pls adopt a formation that is better. I disagree. Without a tempo controlling midfielder, you never have control in any game. At present any games we win are due to the firepower we possess in the forwards. But have we coasted to any victory this season? I can’t think of one. You know, 3-0 up with 20 mins to go, just playing keep-ball to see it out? Until we get a proper midfielder in, every game we play will be helter skelter. And as well as being risky, physically it takes a greater toll as every game is in the balance right until the end which means you can’t coast like City and Liverpool get to do in most games. Against better teams yes but against Newcastle are we trying to say that MCT and Fred or even Donny do not have enough to support the defence, play it simple and allow the attackers to attack? There is no doubting we need a midfield Marshall but I cannot for one minute believe that there is not enough in what is there to beat Newcastle and do better against Norwich. |

I agree 100%, a good passing game is only possible if the player on the ball has options else they will be forced to play risky balls or risk losing it once they're pressed. The best midfield players play in pockets of space and make angles to receive the ball. Darren Fletcher and Park Ji Sung weren't great passers of the ball but they had the likes of scholes and Carrick to play with and they understood the value of possession and could provide that fulcrum when linking defense with attack. Bruno is not that kind of player and we already know Scotty and Fred ain't. You could make an argument that these players are not concentrating and careless in possession but it's never that simple. |

A win last night would have us on 30pts Win 2 games in hand that’s 36pts meaning 5 behind chelsea. We should be thinking ‘let’s go for third rather than 4th’ the mentality of these players is very very hard to understand. Because for the last 3 years CL qualification has been lauded as success. When it should have been the bare minimum for a club like this. |

When it should have been the bare minimum for a club like this. Pathetic really, a supposed big club that lacks any ambition to want to win anything of note. I hate to harp on about this but with Sancho and Varane in and Ronaldo we should have really put the exclamation mark by getting a real manager in the summer. Someone who could have come in, done pre season especially with the 2 big winners and had a launch pad for a successful season. Now you are dealing with poor attitudes, laziness and all manner of poor form. |

The midfield is not a a reason why we were completely out fought by Newcastle and Norwich. Fred and Scott are scrappers who will run all day. One of them is ok, as long as they’re paired with a ball player. Until this is addressed we’re pissing against the wind. |

After 17 games, our goal difference is +2. How bad is that? Imagine if that carries on and we end with +4 in May. Really is unforgivable, shows how big the gulf in class is. 19 points but it’s more than just that, we narrowly win games that the best teams just walk.

I feel worse now than when Ole was floundering near the end I just expected more , teams usually get new manager bounce but as usual we have to be different and make everything a slog.

Could be the realisation that even after a change of manager there isn’t much more that can be wrung from most of these players, so many shit and bang average players make up the first team I just pray Ralf can come up with a couple of gems in the transfer window but I won’t hold my breath |

I’ll give Ralf credit in that he’s stuck with limited choices in midfield even Donny hasn’t really taken his chance when it’s been given, signings are needed but January can be a difficult time to buy.
