Ronaldo will almost certainly leave in the summer along with Cavani. So with Mason's career over then I expect Martial and Rashford will have to rotate as number 9's next season even though neither has acquitted themselves well in the role in the past. Too much to expect us to spend big on a striker.
We will probably sell Donny at a loss. Lingard did better than anyone could have hoped for on loan last season and returned this season and didn't get a game. And I get the feeling Donny is too soft for the Premier League so won't impress at Everton. We will probably go for Rice but balk at the transfer fee and go for McGinn instead. We will end up with Scotland's midfield: McGinn and Scotty. Fletcher and Fergie will be over the moon. So will opposing clubs.
No idea what other business we will do.
But it is difficult to envisage a scenario in which we won't end up a lot weaker by the end of the summer compared to the start of this season. Losing players the quality of Cavani, Ronaldo, Mason and Pogba. And either not replacing them and going with inferior options in our own squad or buying mediocre replacements such as McGinn.

Luis Diaz was going to Spurs. Liverpool found out and 24 hours later, he was a Liverpool player.
Jokes on Liverpool though. They didn't get the social media clicks. Amateurs.

My greatest wish for this club whenever there’s a transfer window: You started the last one... Delete! I’ve started quite a few in recent years. Every one I started has turned out to be a dreadful window too!

Just in case you thought things might be different in the summer. More things change. The more they stay the same.

Already reports suggesting the club want a preseason tour in… China! Because money We’re currently booked for the States this summer. Obviously if Rona allows. But going to China, USA, Middle East is a modern football necessity. So not sure what your beef is here.

Not like that extra money is being used on facilities and transfers in Manchester, it’s just lining pockets in Florida.

New manager in the summer, if they wanted to actually prioritize on the field results for once they could say pre season is being based out of Manchester, let’s implement a style of play get on board with the new boss and you can play teams from Western Europe no problem.

Can you not implement a new style of play against Chinese teams? Not having a go Kam, just agree with Tatty, not really sure where your beef is with a summer tour. Everyone does it and we've been doing it for 2 decades or so. Seems bizarre to decide doing it this year is some betrayal and more evidence of how bad the owners are. If the players are exhausted because 7 months earlier they flew to China for a fortnight then back again, we've serious issues with our coaching and fitness departments. Every other top club does it and their players seem just fine.

Past players from various clubs have openly said how physically demanding and commercially mindless these tours are.

Fair point.
But these tours helped United become the most successful club in the Premier League era. We identified touring Asia long before any one else did, the increase in exposure over there saw more and more money coming into the club and allowed Old Trafford to hit 75,000 capacity, which saw even more money coming in, and to sign the likes of Rio, Rooney, Veron, etc for record amounts. There's a reason everyone else copied what we were doing.
I'm sure the players weren't crying too much when their wages were multiplying thanks to the money being generated. All clubs doing this meant way more exposure for the EPL and the ability to generate record TV right deals to the point a shitty reserve team player at a club like Norwich now takes home the kind of money world beaters were on back when the EPL began.
Anyway, I digress. The summer.
My prediction, one big money signing: most likely is Rice. I've nailed my colours to the mast on Rice, I don't think he's as bad/average as some are making him out to be, but I fully agree the money he would cost is way too much. So I hope it's not him and we play sensible and get, say, Kessie and Brozovic on freebies instead. But, we do love the big waste of money to show everyone we're still the boss, so probably going to be 80M on Rice.
A pair of new full backs. We have decent full backs but need quality one's. Two of those in.
A new centre back.
Nothing new up front, we'll just put our faith in the young kids and cross our fingers. Haaland won't happen, wages will be astronomical.
