My son’s basketball team have a title decider next week, which is obviously a big deal, particularly as it’s against their hated local rivals, who are the other team going for the league. Recently, they played a friendly against each other as the rivals had a cup final. Our boys were missing their top 3 players so they didn’t have much of a chance but kept the game honest until the 4th quarter. The rivals then started a bit of showboating, not unlike the passage of play which was greeted by oles from our Scouse friends the other night. My lad was hit by a technical foul for elbowing another kid in the head after he was fouled, his mate kicked a guy who talked smack and another kid was subbed out as they were worried he was going to punch his opposite number. They showed more fight in 8 minutes than Utd did at Anfield the other evening.
They’re 11 year olds.

It was a nice gesture to pay respects to Ronaldo, but the wank-fest over 'classy' and 'wholesome' Liverpool fans is sickening. The Hillsborough chants from our lot have just made it worse. People are up in arms about it as if Liverpool fans are pure angels and United fans are scum of the earth, like Liverpool fans never chant about Munich, or there are never huge sections of their stadium making plane gestures. The ball washing for Liverpool from the media for the last few years has paid dividends.
