Not really that sympathetic. Kids coming through like Garnacho need to play well every minute they get to have a hope of more game time. Donny has had 57 appearances. Even if you allow for the fact that a lot of them were cameos he has still failed on every occasion to make any kind of positive impression. To be fair in those 57 appearances he was class against Luton Town. Scored a goal against Watford in that glorious finale in the Solskjaer era. What more do you want? 😇

(Can't see a Sancho thread)
But just seen that ETH has said that Sancho is training away from the first team as he's not fit enough. Not what I wanted to see, I thought he would have been doing everything during this break to hit the ground running when the season starts up again

Ten Hag’s sent him off on a specialist training regime.

I've not heard of any other players that didn't go to the WC being out of shape

It also sounds like he may be dealing with some issues that aren’t physical. I’m not being coy, just the way it was worded.

The positive thing is that if there is an issue there he's addressing it. He's a fantastic player when on form so hoping he can turn it around and sort his head out.

We’re presuming this is a mental issue, what if it’s a case of a good player who can’t cut it at this level ?
Used to happen all the time.

It’s actually refreshing to see most people being open to the fact it could be mental health and happy it could be sorted. Not sure why anyone would want to dampen that positive thinking.

Sancho went from tearing up the Bundesliga to missing that penalty, enduring a torrent of racist abuse & joining us in our most toxic season whilst losing a family member & his place in the national team. That's a lot for a 22 year old lad to go through in such a short space of time. Perhaps the league is a struggle for him or perhaps just like so many other young English players that have so much pressure put on them so early on in their career he's struggling and needs the right guidance. Guidance it looks like he's getting now with TH. Hope it works out for him. Have mentioned before aswell that I'd like to see him behind the striker instead of out wide. Really think he'd reinvent himself there.

Really think he'd reinvent himself there. All good points, but I don't think there's any secret sauce that will turn it around other than hard work. With Sancho, it's one of two things. Either he's suffering from what you said and he'll come good or he was never that good to begin with. Whenever I saw Dortmund, it was always others like Bellingham and Haaland who stood out. He's got great numbers in German football but the PL is a completely different level. He's supposed to be a great technician yet he can't seem to dribble and rarely goes past someone either with the ball or with his movement. I hope I'm wrong about him because he cost 70m and we keep spending stupid money on hype only to see them flatline.

I hope he’s backed in the January market as there’s no doubt in my mind that this is the man to make us great again.
