My wife and I love walking/hiking...in 2019 we walked the Camino de Santiago...500 miles across the French border and then across Northern Spain...took 31 or 32 days...awesome and varied scenery... We planned to do more but Covid happened... However, if things go well, we plan to walk the Ruta de la Lana in September (approx 450 miles) from Alicante to Burgos and next Spring maybe the Via de la Plata (625 miles) from Sevilla to Santiago de Compostela) We both wear Miendl Bhutan boots and they are just great... You be doing the Pacific crest trail soon! Mexico to Canada. I would love to do that. It would probably kill me, though.

I absolutely love the idea of doing it, but at what point do you stop being on a hike and just start being homeless? It's a long time to dedicate to going for a walk.

Very true…I think we will stick to Europe for a while at least…plenty of long walks to be done…we have plans…

Did Snowdon for the first time in a while today. Started in Llanberis and then came back down via Pyg. We thought about doing Crib Goch but the weather was too awful to try it on the way down. A few people we spoke to swerved it on the way up b cause of th weather, didn't see a single view with the clouds being so low.
Do recommend the Pyg track on the way down instead of up though

Great thread!
I'm super into multi-day trekking (we're quite blessed down here), these are some of the bucket-list walks that are on my radar:
Annapurna (Nepal) Milford Track (NZ) Kumano Kodo (Japan) La Ruta de los Parques (Chilean Patagonia) Lycian Trail (Turkey)
Any others that are worthwhile to dream about?

PCT was my dream. I followed a guys blog called Halfway anywhere. although this changed my mind! Milford track is on my bucket list too.

Why have I just bought a tent? I haven't got a bloody clue about camping! If you bought a proper set up from Go outdoors you would need a wagon to carry all the gear.

Did some walking in and around Bath over the last couple of days. Yesterday was City centre to Dundas aqueduct and back along the Kennet and Avon, stopping off at Warleigh weir for a couple of hours. And up to Solsbury Hill today. Half killed me, but the views are worth it.

Went for my first walk in about 3 weeks this morning. Only did about 6 miles along the canal, but it absolutely kicked my arse. I feel like I've run a marathon. Covid did a real number on my energy levels. Weather was gorgeous, though. Clear, with a slight chill in the air, but still warm enough for shorts. I love this time of year.

Has anyone here done a walking holiday in Nepal before? Mate of mine has done base camp at Everest. Absolutely incredible was his words! Although the guy he was with was seriously ill with altitude sickness.

Yeah I think we're looking at a couple of weeks and more going through villages/towns etc around late next year.
Just sounding out possible routes and advice from people who have done similar before
