Anyone do any outdoor pursuits? I've come across some hiking boots called Oboz. I'm slightly dubious of buying footwear online, they never seem to fit right! Anyone heard of them? I usually get Solomons or Merrells. My last Solomon boots I left at my dad's in America and I fucking miss them. Brilliant boots. I also started biking again during lockdown, I bought a sweet gravel bike. Not a piece of lycra anywhere in my house though!😂 I really want to get a paddle board too. Too bloody cold here though!

I'm a Merrell man. Love a good walk. I use the All Trails app.

The last boots I bought was a pair of Berghaus. They have great ankle support and are wide fitting, which I need. Proper comfortable, too. They weren't cheap, well over £150 I think, but they're still going strong ~8 years later with semi-regular use. I've also got some Merrell shoes, but I find they're not as good for actual hiking. Great general purpose shoes, though.
I've been wanting to get into Kayaking. I've been a few times with rented /borrowed kit, but I haven't bit the bullet yet on buying my own gear yet. It's a lot of money to invest in gear that might just end up taking up space in my garage for the rest of time gathering dust.

Oboz is the polish and Slavic word for camp if that makes you feel better! Haven’t been able to do so since having children, but hiking in Yosemite for three days and a weekend in the Canadian Rockies were some of the most rewarding/ memorable experiences of my life. When the snow settles I do big mountain skiing as much as possible.

Probably wouldn't use it enough though.

And when you drive in from the south, I think it is, you come through a tunnel and all of a sudden you see everything all at once, the falls, half dome, all of it. Incredible.

I think the closest I've seen here would be the western Highlands of Scotland. On more than one occasion I had to stop the car and get out!

Donegal in Ireland, never tire of the place. When the weathers good there's few places as beautiful in this part of the world

I got a great deal on some Merrels recently form Go Outdoors, 150 quid boots for 75 quid.
Was up walking around Loch Nagar a couple of weeks ago, absolutely stunning and a beast of a route, was still a Munro as well

I did Fort William a few years ago and it took my breath away. I've travelled quite a bit, but that place stole my fucking heart!

The Western Highlands & Islands are a joy and beauty to behold. No amount of words can do their beauty any justice in my eyes. Been numerous times (but not in the last decade ) and have ancestry in Scotland so trying to reconnect with the place whenever I can.

My wife and I love walking/hiking...in 2019 we walked the Camino de Santiago...500 miles across the French border and then across Northern Spain...took 31 or 32 days...awesome and varied scenery...
We planned to do more but Covid happened...
However, if things go well, we plan to walk the Ruta de la Lana in September (approx 450 miles) from Alicante to Burgos and next Spring maybe the Via de la Plata (625 miles) from Sevilla to Santiago de Compostela)
We both wear Miendl Bhutan boots and they are just great...
