I doubt Oblak would have achieved the level he has were it not for the efforts of (checks notes) Ivo Grbić snapping at his heels. Would Neuer have won everything going in the game but for Sven Ulreich? No, we’re going nowhere until we upgrade Heaton. |

Don’t think Dave really lacks the motivation to be honest, not entirely sure how having another quality keeper is going to spur him on. He’s not Luke Shaw where he can’t be arsed half the time and his fitness and application in training has been called into question.
In fact he’s been quite vocal about how poor the attitude of other players has been, so I think he’s motivated enough. He’s just made a mistake in a pre-season friendly that’s all.
He was good last season and he only had Henderson to compete with, who is shite.

I think a keeper is the one position were you are never going to keep two top top quality players happy, especially with the lack of game time, ddg is class, but he has these little mistakes in his game, he isn't going to change at this age, by the looks of things ETH won't stand for stuff like that, and with his contact running out I think this year will be his last at the club.

To be fair you look at the top 6 clubs in the league and their keepers, they've probably made as many if not more mistakes, Lloris is a prime example. Just for some reason Daves get highlighted more than most. I'm not concerned about him too much, more so the lettuce defence in front of him which was the problem last season. |
