I’m fairly happy with Dave just saying that Henderson is never the answer. He became a scapegoat for other players failings. Dave that is. You’re fairly happy with one of the best players in the world in his position? But we need to upgrade him? Ok. No , he has weaknesses for sure. My issue was always the calls to replace him for an academy product. Let’s face it, had Henderson not got Covid Ole would have done it. |

Allison made far more blunders last season for example. And if Ole had replaced him with Henderson, he’d have been fired quicker than he was. A shame it didn’t happen before we wasted a new contract on him last summer really. Should have got the captaincy instead of Maguire. That was another fuck up that continues to haunt us. |

I don’t think we need to replace DDG but i’d like us to give him more of a daily challenge than Heaton. Many of the very best a not going to sign for us for the obvious reasons. |

I’m still struggling with this. None of our other previous top keepers have had this “daily challenge”. Dave’s not exactly used to having one either. Think we were spoiled by having Romero here as a backup. Important to remember that when we signed Romero everyone expected him to be shit. He couldn’t even get into the Sampdoria team. I think we even had Valdes here at the time too didn’t we? Romero was never a threat to Dave either. You have to go back to Fergie rotating Dave and Anders Lindegaard for any actual competition. Lindegaard was shite and was only competition because Dave was young and new to the league. |

If I remember it right Lindegaard got injured around the same time Fergie was bringing him in and out of the team because Dave was getting some extra press scrutiny ( unfairly I might add) so then he got a decent run. I even recall some pleb suggesting his jersey was far too big for him ( some pundit/ex player). The shit he got for being a foreign player new to the league was disgusting. |

Will never forget Robbie Savage calling De Gea the worst goalkeeper he’s ever seen. |

Phenomenal at 1 on 1's and great with his feet, commanding his area and sweeping. Everything that DDG doesn't excel at and why he can't be classed in the same bracket. DDG is a great shot-stopper, but in the modern way that all the top teams play that's not enough. He'll obviously be first choice this season, but it'd be no surprise if we look to replace him for the following. |
