Not to bring the mood down, but Liverpool still managed 70% possession last night and that's just not ETH football. That's where Casemiro should be making an impact. McTominay wasn't bad last night, but that gulf in quality will hopefully see us dominate more games. We won by working incredibly hard and it feels like ages ago since we last put in a shift like that. Erik dragging the players in for that 13km run may have been a masterstroke. A lot of our players aren't capable of playing out from the back, the team he picked last night was capable of it, bar the goalkeeper, Dalot and McTom, but against Liverpool, at home, after our start, he was right to switch it up. I joking said it was the return of Ole Ball, and it was. We'll likely go back to how ETH wants to play on Saturday, and then go back to a more pragmatic apprach vs Arsenal in a fortnight. That, to me, is a sign of a good coach.

I also really liked his being proactive in moving Rashford on to Trent, who he must have known has destroyed him before, and gave him fits again in the 2nd half. Martial gave the Scouse something different to deal with and held the ball up well. He got all the big decisions right yesterday, before and during the game. There’s a reason this guy was as highly-regarded as he is.

It does feel good to beat that lot, particularly so comfortably. They apparently had loads of shots but I don't really remember being worried bar the de Gea wonder save to his right.
This could be a turning point, on both fronts. If we can keep the momentum of protests up after the high wears off we might have a chance. On the pitch will take care of itself.

The players played well but let's not take away the tactical masterclass from ETH. He targeted TAA and Gomez from the get go, played with our strengths. Sure they had all the possession and shots but hardly did anything with it. Got a scrappy goal back, De Gea should have done better on that one to be fair.
Lets not get too carried away, it's still #glazersOut full steam

That felt like a 3-0, not a 2-1. We were comfortable bar the last few minutes after Salah’s goal, which was just bad luck.

I'd not seen any Liverpool games this season, so far. I'm actually shocked how toothless they look without Mane. It seems their style of play now is get it wide quick, and get the ball into Nunez, and that's infintely easier to defend than what they've been doing for 5 years or so.

I’m in Egypt so missed the game and typically it seems we put in a performance, so glad to beat them tossers though!!
Let’s hope we do the same to Southampton
Oh and finally someone with the balls to drop harry and Luke, gave them 2 games, didn’t perform so out you go!! 👏

Mane was a tremendous player (fuck you Wiodward) and as good as Diaz is, he won’t replace him. I loathe Firmino but he was a very important piece for them too and he’s clearly washed. They are now having to transition their whole style of play like we did in 2009 after losing Ronaldo and Tevez. We won some titles but were never truly the same. They won’t be either.
