I wanted us to lose yesterday, and I'm not ashamed of it. I don't need to look at myself in the fucking mirror, fuck off. Make no mistake, I want us to lose every single game until the Glazers are gone. A good signing and a good win and the momentum has already been lost. It's a constantly repeating cycle. Poor results/poor showing in the transfer market/no sign of any cohesive plan - anger - protests - good signing/improved results/whatever bullshit that papers over the cracks - loss of protest momentum - back to apathy/inaction. It happens again and again and again. We were so close. We've never been that close. Last night could have been, should have been the spark that lit the gunpowder. But instead everyone is fucking positive and happy-clappy, and that positivity amongst the fans is only going to increase if positive things continue to happen on the pitch. We're never going to get rid of the Glazers. You’re an idiot! Momentum won’t be lost because we won a game of football. If you think otherwise then you are the idiot. Its not new, this cycles are always there. Just have a look on social media, there is a big slump in anti Glazer sentiment. This was the closest we came...

Problem is are ST holders going to potentially jeopardise their tickets by boycotting? I beleive they can miss a certain amount of games before being penalised (9 I think). Considering some have had them for years you can't blame them if they didn't.
Sky showed last night that they're not that arsed. There was little focus on the protesting and the sound was deadened when the chants were going on. Add to that the tickets are already paid for aswell.
I just don't beleive it'll make all that difference unless it gets the coverage to go along with it. Baracading the megastore will only work for so long until they find a way around that.

The momentum is already lost. The protests should have been all over the back pages, if not front pages. Should have been all over social media, not just the United corners. There was barely a peep. The vast majority of the discourse was positive, from all sides. Erik swearing was a bigger story than the protests. Images of Maguire sitting on the bench were shown more than the protests. FFS.

Bang on. The protests were an afterthought. They will spend some more money on a few panic purchases (which is fine by me, more money not going to their grubby pockets) and I feel our fears will be realized - the status quo will remain.

2 days on and everybody is talking about ickle Maguire and Shaw possibly losing their spot in the England lineup if they continue to be benched. Never mind they're fucking shite, that's the major talking point.
Dead certain they'll buy some players and there'll be a couple of feel good results and that's the end of the anti-Glazer run.
Shite.

I don’t think it’s gone quiet because United won. I think it’s fizzled because there was simply no coverage of it. If you don’t have Twitter or any other channel, you’d barely have heard of it. Looks like they were taking banners off people inside the stadium as well. It’s deflating but has to carry on

I was talking to a guy yesterday who went on Monday, ST holder for years. I asked him about the protests to which he replied, there were a few and some green flares but nothing major! Then he started to defend Maguire. I walked off. I bet there are thousands like him at OT. How do you change that mindset? He isn't a tourist either.

It’s deflating but has to carry on If we got beat again, or hammered, you think Neville, Keane and Carragher wouldn't be talking about the state of this club because of the Glazers? Or the media? You think the fans wouldn't continue to show their anger outside the stadium, or the next day? It's fallen massively.

It would've made the protests impossible to ignore. Maybe caused a stronger reaction from those in the ground. Pitch invasions, mass walkouts, whatever. Maybe some shit would have got broken. Winning, and looking good while winning, was the worst case scenario. There are more important things than points earned or happy feelings from getting one over on the enemy.
