Rashford was poor last night. A winner against the scouse and an assist last night is not an awful return though, and we are not spoilt for choices up front. I’d let him build some confidence with a run in the side. We heard no end about CR7 not fitting the ETH system because he can't/won't press ,Rashford is even worse.

Yep I'd be much more willing to forgive him if he was running his arse off but he doesn't, the way he presses is so half arsed. I don't know whether he's lazy or just fucking stupid.

Just don't think he really knows what he needs to be doing, doesn't understand the role, lack of confidence etc Certainly ain't a 9 & even less so in a side that wants to press from the front.

I think overall the team played really well, especially in the first half.
The only disappointment was the usual Rashford upfront and Elanga. Sure Rashford made the goal with the assist but every thing else was rubbish, he was piss poor. We could have had 3 or 4 goals if he performed. I am really not sure bout him, I know he has a few defenders in this forum, but I think just ain't cut out for it any more. I would have taken €60m from PSG to be honest. I'll be happy to eat my words if he somehow improves in the coming weeks.
No comments on Elanga, he's just shit. He can run sure but nothing else.
I have to say impressed with McT, he has really stepped up his game. Maybe having Varane and Martinez behind him just gives him that extra confidence that even when he fucks up there is backup. Sometimes its that simple.

After Maguire and Shaw, Rashford must be next.

I love the way that the back four are so together. They’re treating clearances like goals with high fives and fist pumps! No hapless waving of the arms, or pointing at nothing in particular. The trust now goes through the team ,and the forwards are free to get on with being forwards. Really chuffed with how this is going after such a woeful start.

I think Varane's contribution is often overlooked here, he was very calm and no fuss yesterday. Bailed out Martinez a few times. It is a complementary partnership where no one is trying to one up the other, they know what their job is. Before you had the fridge bombing up field trying to make things "happen" and then run back half assed when he lost it
It was a nervy 2nd half, shouldnt have been to be honest if we put our chances away but overall it is progress.
Sunday will be the test though against a young hungry Arsenal side. The games I've seen thus far, they are playing some of the best football this season, attack and defending as a unit. Arteta has his players this season and it is showing.

i was at a pub last night, watching a concert. they had a tv where they showed the game and i only got to see the 2nd half. maybe it was because the commentary was turned off but i wasnt worried a single bit about conceding. we look rock solid at the back and its actually enjoyable and fun watching those guys defend, long may it continue.

I would say when Ronaldo came on, he did put in the effort this time. So hopefully since he is stuck with us till January he starts to pull his weight again.
I can see it working in this system, especially when we have had loads of possession like in the first half.

One of the most frustrating things with Rashford (other than being completely shite) is that so often you just see him standing there doing fuck all. It's like he just can't be fucked half the time.
A top-class #9 needs to be high up on the priority list next summer.

I can see it working in this system, especially when we have had loads of possession like in the first half. We actually looked a lot more dangerous when he came on and some of these players don't always see his runs or can't find the pass. Martial was really good in preseason and in the second half against Liverpool, I thought he was very good. You can never be sure with him, but this system and coach will definitely suit him. It will be different once Antony gets going and I don't expect him to take long, because he will be playing the way he is used to, with a coach he has developed with. I don't think our attack will be perfect this year, but it has the potential to get a lot better. The main thing at this stage is we have stopped being easy and soft to play against. It's already more disciplined, more organised and more physical than it has been for a long time. Martinez, Varane and Dalot are so much more composed on the ball too.

First time we've won 3 games in a row in 18 months. That's ridiculous for Man Utd. Winning 3 games in a row never used to be noteworthy.
