Erik back to making excuses for the Glazers. Lots of clubs are still in the market on deadline day and it isn't just Eriksen injured we also have Donny out for the rest of the season and we play three in midfield but now only have four senior team midfielders available for selection. Arsenal literally are going ahead and signing Jorginho today. Chelsea are going to wrap up Fernandez. But it is what it is. At least Erik is talking up a Fred Casemiro partnership and I would much rather see that than seeing much of Scotty. And while some naivety is to be expected in his first season in English football it wasn't exactly unforeseeable that the injury risk was higher against lower league opposition who often resort to fouling and it wasn't necessary to play Eriksen who needed some rest and isn't as tough as Casemiro. I thought he was playing Eriksen too much but ETH can’t be blamed for what happened on Saturday. That was a cowardly act of thuggery from a shit player acting the big man. |

Big fan of Ten Hag, but seriously - if you're not clued up enough on who might fit the mould (even temporarily on loan, I mean we signed Weghorst?!) then what are we playing at? Tielemans and Jorginho are right there. Surely must be a line fed from the top down, as this may well sink our silverware chances in a few competitions we're challenging for. I have no sympathy for what's to come. I agree. Our options in CM until a couple of weeks from the end of the season are- Casemiro. Fred A useless McTominay Talented kids. We are literally a muscle tear away from the season tanking. Murtough better be on the phone to every top club in Europe getting a loan in. |

In the the last two weeks we have lost two CM's to what are all but season ending injuries,Arnold has failed to act & ETH is still prepared to make excuses for him.
If the season goes to fuck,ETH now has to shoulder his share of blame.

Atletico are apparently offering us Carrasco on loan, given he’s a winger not sure how that helps. I think one solution where it won’t come from an incoming transfer is to consider playing Sancho in the no. 10 role and having Bruno play a deeper box to box role similar to Eriksen. The other is to promote and play Zidane Iqbal more regularly.

The fact that we couldn't rest Casemiro and Eriksen, in different games for different reasons, speaks to how threadbare the midfield is. We'll now need to overplay Casemiro, and when he's eventually + predictably crocked we might as well pack it in for the season. |

Fucking gutted for Eriksen and for us. You have to protect a player like that when you have the chance against shit house opposition. There was a chance to rest and protect him for a week and pretty much everyone here was calling for it. The most annoying thing though is we don't have the squad needed and he doesn't actually believe we have the players who can replace him. If he did we wouldn't have to play him against a mid table Championship team with lumps going all in with shit tackles in their cup final!
Fred will do ok with Casemiro, for a while anyway, because they have that understanding, but we lose that creativity needed!
Just fucking sell McTominay to any bid

We could have rested Casemiro against Crystal Palace and Eriksen against Reading. Erik chose not to. Fred didn't start either game. And now Erik is talking up Fred in his press conference and making excuses for the Glazers as to why we aren't going to sign any midfield replacement.
Rotation by choice i.e. against weaker opposition or when you have a big game next may not be palatable when you consider the drop off in quality with our bench options. But it is far more preferable to the situation which we have found ourselves now in. Of course there is some bad luck involved. But the fact of the matter is that with a proper rotation policy Eriksen shouldn't have been on the pitch against Reading.
