Funny how we've wasted so much time over the years complaining that we never managed to land a worthy successor for Ferguson. There is only so much you can do with mediocre players and bringing in someone like Erik could well backfire because he simply doesn't have the players capable of playing the way he wants and our recruitment is so bad and our owners so stingy we will probably never be able to assemble a team he can achieve great things with.
Fred is useless. The absolute last player you want in midfield against a team that parks the bus. And it is worrisome how reliant we are on Eriksen. Casemiro was pretty decent though.
No idea what is wrong with Bruno. Only 1 goal in all competitions this season and very wasteful tonight. Great decision to give him a massive contract last season on the basis that his poor form was probably only temporary.
Rashford was lively and had the best chances and caused problems with his pace but it is no use if he cannot get the ball in the net.
Antony was very poor and was easily marked out of the game. Erik's insistence on paying over the odds for him when we could have got Gakpo for £30m and had change left to strengthen other positions looking more and more unwise. Sancho was a bit better but again the end product he seemed to have in spades in Germany seems to have deserted him. And the pair of them cost us £160m.
Ronaldo still doesn't quite look right. But I think mentally he has already checked out.

Each to their own but got to disagree, our best chance for champs league is winning this and really want us to win it, our European trophy haul is shite for the size of the club! We need to top group to stand any chance though and prey others manage to knock the likes of Barca out |
