Genuinely don't think we're as far off as some think. Barring the monumentally stupid mistake, if we had a striker that could finish that's 3 comfortable points today. Againat the "top 6" we've won 3, drawn 1 (unnecessarily dropped points) and lost a game against a city side where we'd lost momentum due to postponed games. Think we're on the right track and most importantly with the right man in charge. Add a top striker to that squad and we'll be well on our way to being where we should be. Still a way off but we're getting there imo. I think City beat us because they’re miles better than us and they have extra motivation for the fixture. We’re miles away from them, regardless of international breaks and monarchs pegging it. I think now Liverpool seem to have dropped off, the rest of the top teams are all sort of roughly the same. Between United and Chelsea you’ve got two teams who are still quite early on in their “process”. I’d say similar for Spurs, but Conte probably isn’t going to be long-term there. Arsenal are doing well as Arteta has had more time with his side to establish their way of playing and because they’ve played nowhere near the level of opposition we have. Basically it’s City and then everyone else. Which is probably as it should be given City are a nation state’s plaything which allegedly cooks the books to a ridiculous fashion.

A lot of what ifs but if we took our chances, we would have won it comfortably. It was fairly even but in all honesty I didnt feel like we were going to lose it, only just before they got the penalty we were shit, giving the ball away a bit too easily. We had better possession, better shots and more passes in their box, again dominating a side in the top half this time on their own turf. Its been a while since we looked this organised and we are let's face it finally playing as a team and not individuals.
We needed that goal, to lose it would have been such a downer. We got a fairly easy run now and could be looking top 4 for sure by Christmas.
What's getting on my nerves is how our poison of ex-players are getting on ETH's back. It's only 11 games. Sure he lost 4 games but he has got the team playing like a team. All of them were kissing Ole's ass when he was in charge. Keano today can go fuck himself, calling ETH out for being 5th in the league? What was he saying when Ole was getting us into a relegation fight...

Ole the only one with a free pass.

Its not just ex players, supporters are doing it now aswell. It's ridiculous. Any stick to beat him with. But aye the ex players can do one for all I care. Only speak up when it suits their agenda. People are too solely focused on the negatives. We're only 3 points off 3rd place with some teams around us and above us still yet to play each other aswell. There's still plenty of football left this season and there's plenty of improvement to be made but there's also a lot of positives to take aswell.

Yea I dont get it. First time after a long time we are playing decent football, dominating football. Players come and go, United will always be there, not sure what kind of United supporters are these lot. We're not fucking Ronaldo FC...
ETH has handled it brilliantly, it was clear today at the post match he was pissed with the same stupid questions. I just wonder how good the team would have been without this nonsense of a distraction? I can only imagine...
The only thing at the moment that annoys me a little about ETH is that he aint giving the youngsters any chances. Could have brought on Garnacho today, have him have a go at the fullback. Always with the same subs. If they dont play, they wont get better.

As previously posted I missed the second half so watched the highlights this morning.
The Chelsea corner where they hit the bar and the second corner for the penalty was the only threat highlighted for them(sky sports)
That is definitely 2 points dropped more than a good away point against a top 6 rival.
ETH definitely needs at least a loan option in January because our misfiring front line will cost us this season.

ETH hasn't been perfect but you're a lost cause if you can't see the progress we're making on the pitch. We don't get it right for 90 minutes every week but you can see his style creeping more and more into our game and obviously the Spurs performance was the one performance so far this season where it clicked perfectly.
After that horror start, when you consider how many of the top teams we had to face in our 9 games: 6 wins, 2 draws and just 1 further loss, against the best team in the league no less (though that doesn't excuse the embarrassing performance) is a fantastic run of results. We could've seriously been looking up from the bottom half if he wasn't able to get through to them as quickly as he has following that, and done it with the Ronaldo sideshow a constant.
Yeah, not perfect but a super encouraging start.

Yeah, not perfect but a super encouraging start. And to add to that, the football is good to watch and his signings, particularly Martinez, have been excellent. This is the closest we’ve been to a proper football club for quite some time.

Yeah, not perfect but a super encouraging start. Exactly this. Was never going to be solved over night or even in one window. Considering he's only had the one window so far I'd say he's done good so far, add to that some decisons he's made that people were criticising Ole for not making. Some are quick to overreact and highlight the mistakes but don't have the same energy for the positives, which imo there are move of than negatives. Just need to keep it up now and hope he gets the chance to bring in a striker in Jan.

Next thing for me is to start introducing some younger players into the team, Pellistri, Garnacho the main two. I get it's not been easy to do over the last couple of months as most games have been too close and had too much of a must-win feeling about them to be throwing in kids but with a more stable team we should be seeing players like that get minutes, especially as the attack is the most inconsistent part of our team now.
Elanga looks a good pro and works hard but there's not enough quality there, suspect he'll start in midweek in the Europa but hopefully if there's a change to be made it's one of the two mentioned that comes on.

If the club backs him and he gets 4 players in before the start of next season then we will be genuinely challenging for the premier league title for the first time in a decade.

This is the closest we’ve been to a proper football club for quite some time. This is exactly it, its not just winning matches, it the way we are playing football. I'll be honest if we lost today I would have been frustrated but we played well and didnt fold.
Even when Ole went on the run of unbeaten matches and the first few weeks post Jose, it was clear it was more a team of individuals playing brilliantly rather than a team working together and dominating teams.
All this could fall apart in the next few weeks with the teams from to lower half but I've confident we will grind out results even with our misfiring front 3.
If the board has some sense, they will sanction a forward in January, we are desperately crying for one.

We should always have Brazilians in our team.

His faith in Martial and Rashford is misguided. Both need upgrading or it will cost him his job.
