I find the media narrative that Harry is a "great player" unfairly subjected to a hate campaign that is responsible for his poor performances almost amusing. I don't know any other player in the country who could get away with playing so consistently badly over so long a period and still have so many people defending him.
Erik has done the right thing relegating him to the bench. Annoying that Varane is yet again injured but hopefully Lindelof will start ahead of Maguire as Lindelof has been solid if unspectacular for us in recent games and match fitness is important to Erik. But even if Maguire does get some game time between now and the World Cup I am confident that Erik won't tolerate any mistakes.
I have zero respect for Southgate as a manager. He is the English Ole. And it is hypocritical of him to keep selecting Maguire when he's lost his place in the Manchester United team and is playing badly for England with the Germany display particularly shocking. And he is insane to keep overlooking Smalling who has shown great leadership abilities in Rome and helped them win a trophy.

Hoping Garnacho gets some minutes today. Nothing like a young kid breaking into the team to warm hearts and minds and create a buzz. He certainly should be starting ahead of Sancho but maybe Erik will decide to start Ronaldo as he worked hard against Sheriff and scored and could use the confidence boost after his rocky start to the season.
Hopefully Lindelof starts ahead of Maguire given he's had more practice playing alongside Martinez and is match fit and done OK in recent games whereas Maguire is a total liability.
Definitely a must win will put us 2 points clear of Chelsea and 7 points clear of Liverpool and I still feel they are our main rivals for top 4

If he starts Maguire and we look all over the place at the back again, he deserves every bit of criticism that comes his way. Lindelof is by no means perfect but he's better than Maguire.
