I forgot how insufferably irritating Arsenal fans are. As much as I’d like them to win the league over City, there would be something slightly amusing about a total capitulation at some point. I don't want them to win the league over City. City are cheats, so their league titles don't count in my eyes. Arsenal have shit owners. Not as shit as ours, but shit nonetheless. To have them win the league before we do would be crushing. And of course their fans would be absolutely unbearable if they win. City don't have enough fans to notice.

A lot of naivety shown by ETH over the last couple of games. The mistake with Casemiro midweek and the mistakes with team selection and subs today have cost us. I hope he's able to learn from them.
Tired of the Weghorst propaganda. Just because he made a couple of runs, that might of kind of opened up a bit of space that led to goals but not really, and he presses a bit, doesn't make up for the complete lack of output in every other aspect required of a #9. Embarrassing stuff.

Only watched the highlights. Just another example of how threadbare our squad is, lacking the required level of talent when key platings are missing or miss-firing.
As depressing as a loss to this lot is, I’m taking heart in the fact that we’re at the start of a new era and that games against this lot are going to be as exciting and relevant as they used to be!

Which is exactly why we were never in a title race. Nice progress, helped by the fact that some of our rivals are absolutely shite.
We have a game to play every 3-4 days, players need rest and we'll have injuries and suspensions. We have next to nothing to offer from the bench and our RB, RW and CF are average at best.
Time to move on. Forest on Wednesday, and a chance to reach a final. A cup and finishing top four would be a good first season for ETH. Change of owners would be the icing on the cake.

Embarrassing stuff. Had we lost points at Palalce with Casemiro rested he'd be slaughtered. As it turned out, it's a ref decision that prevented us a legit second and the chance to take Casemiro off with a two goal cushion, and perhaps a result on Sunday. fine margins.
Weghorst is shite. ETH knows that. That's exactly what he meant when he said that this window's recruits need to fit the club financially. A much bigger issue is that Antony is shite. That's an 80 million piece of turd on a long term contract, and this one's on ETH. I hope he can admit that ,and not start him every game. Poor Marcus Rashford is a wizard for managing anything with those two completing our front three.

I don't think so. We'd still be talking about the lack of options, forcing ten Hag to make the pragmatic choice to rest Casemiro. But we'd be more than happy to give him a pass. I know I would. Woken up annoyed today because I know we could have beaten them. Weghorst should be getting hooked at 2-2 and Garnacho should come on to tear into them. Ben White was already on a yellow and I am convinced he's either stepping off Garnacho or fouling him for a second yellow. The boy is too fucking good. ten Hag shat his pants for this game. I never want to see that donkey set foot on the pitch again I don't care if we play 10v11. It is an embarrassment to the club and I would have preferred that we signed nobody than him.

I get the criticism on ETH, but we lost because of two fuck ups by AWB - ball watching for the 1st, and breaking the offside trap on the 3rd. Last year this game, with Arsenal in the form that they are in, we lose by 3-4 goals.
So far, the only thing that I hold against him is insisting on buying Anthony for so much money. I really hope that I am wrong, but I can’t imagine he’ll ever justify the price tag.

Folks, we are playing every 3 days or so and will continue doing so until early March. With such a thin squad (and some key players injured or unavailable), it’s unforgivable on the players. There is bound to be some lapse in concentration or mistakes. What’s heartening is that there is a spirit which was clearly lacking in earlier regimes. I’m sure we are all pleased with where we are today (could have been better I agree). Let’s cut the team and manager some slack.

Squad management is part of the job description. No one outside of City has two good players in every position. We've been lucky so far with injuries and suspensions which has allowed Erik to settle on his preferred first XI and put together a very impressive run on the strength of that. And he has been helped by the fact that we have a lot more quality in our first team than previous managers have enjoyed e.g. Varane, Martinez, Casemiro, Eriksen etc.
But to really earn his salt he has to work around the deficiencies in his squad and find a way to continue getting results. Previous managers had to work with some of the bench options we complain about and still had to finish top 4 and were expected to win things. Erik will have to do the same this season. It is not easy but by making the right team selections and tweaking tactics where necessary it should be possible to occasionally rest key players to avoid burnout and keep them fresh while still continuing to get results. Obviously we will occasionally drop points. But what Erik needs to avoid (which was the downfall of previous managers such as LVG and Ole who also put together impressive runs in their day) is a prolonged slump in form.
And no one is expecting us to win the title. But 3rd place and a domestic cup is a realistic and achievable objective even making allowances for lack of squad depth and our striker issues.

Mistakes were made, I'm sure they'll be addressed and learnt from. Unfortunately as frustrating as it is, it happens. Bit calmer today after that so looking at it a bit differently. One thing that needs to be done away with straight away is playing out from the back, been saying this for months now. It's horrendous and it never works, also as much as I like De Gea and try to defend him as best I can but hes to blame aswell. He's not great with the ball at his feet so players need to stop putting him in that postion where hes under unnecessary pressure. I'd rather him kick the ball and lose it in their half than around our own box. Bin it.
Anyway Cup semi final to look forward to Wednesday now so on we go.

Fair take 😄 I have maintained that Arsenal winning is a good rebuke to the nouveau riche assholes ruining football. Last night these fucks were way too smug though. I nearly wavered from my stance.

The expectation should be two trophies. The most successful first-season manager in the club's history achieved it with a far interior squad, so that should be the yardstick.
