The tactic of using anything longer than a 5 year contract to amortise transfer fees is of course being abolished this summer. I'm astonished that it even exists now. Same.

In CF - Osihmen is absolute priority. He has to be signed. Forget the other forwards
CF - possibly make Wout permanent
CB - Timber/Kim Min-Jae replacement back up option for Maguire when he leaves
CM - Bellingham / FDJ / Camavinga / Nunez CM - depending on how he does make Sabitzer permanent / Teilemens on a free
Out Henderson Williams Maguire Axel Telles McTomminay VDB Martial Elanga
It’s a huge outlay but it’s not unrealistic. We should make enough in outgoings to pay for Osihmen and then with new owners they should be able to afford the rest. Could be a net spend of about 150-200m which isn’t bad in this day n age

He may do in the summer. I’d say RB Isn’t as high on the priority list as the other positions and I can’t see us making more than 5 signings

Daichi Kamada would be a great option on a free with his contract expiring in the summer. Would also be keen on Marcus Thuram as backup to Osimhen or whoever we sign. At least there is some potential Erik can work with.
Signing a few squad rotation players on a free would then allow us to devote the bulk of our transfer budget to strengthening the first team.

Trying to be realistic, highly doubtful there'll be a whole heap of outgoings and incomings, but I'd hope to see.
Out:
Henderson - No way back after slagging off the club and not good enough anyway. Jones - Out of contract so obvious departure. Bailly - Make the Marseille move permanent. Maguire - Just clear as day he needs to go. Telles - Not wanted, leave. Williams - Not good enough.
There's a few more I'd show the door too but I don't see a whole heap of departures to be honest.
In: A new back up keeper, I don't have names, just someone decent. A new back up CB. A new midfielder. Osimhen.
Again, could do with more but those are the minimum.

Osimhen is our big must signing in the summer and money shouldn't be an issue by then.

Not quite sure where to post because the Greenwood thread is locked, but being reported that all charges have been dropped.
Gives Arnold a big problem & potential PR disaster in the making.

Cool. He can continue his career. I've heard Telford United is the place to be.

What will happen with Greenwood, now the charges have been dropped? He signed a 5 year contract and we're paying him 4 million a year. We can still cash in on a good transfer fee if he's not going to be here

The rule of law or the rule of the mob? Should someone continue to be prosecuted by the public even though the charges were dropped? I think we know what the right answer is.
The issue I have in simply letting him go is that some other club that would criticize United for bringing him back would sign him up in a heartbeat if he became available. There is not a simple black or white solution. I’m certain the club will let it sit until the summer, which is the wise thing to do.

I think we can certainly demand a transfer fee albeit a discounted one as his stock has fallen. Probably a foreign club is the best option as there wasn't much media attention outside the UK. But you'd imagine big clubs would no longer be interested in him. Even if he hasn't been convicted of assault or attempted rape there is enough evidence to suggest he is misogynistic and abusive and that isn't a good look for a club of our profile. Not to mention our no d*ickheads policy.
For example Arnautovic can happily ply his trade for Bologna in Italy. But quite rightly a fan backlash prevented him from joining us.
