This really comes back to what Red Nev was alluding too, managers having far too much influence over signings.
The DOF should be setting out a clear vision of how the club want to play & sign players that fit the profile for this.
Understandably, if we look at Brighton as an example, they not hired the likes of SAF,LVG,Jose ETH proven managers at Elite level.
It's easier for a club like Brighton to say to the likes of Potter & De Zerbi we are happy to give you a chance to make a name for yourself in the premier league, but this this how we work, play, how we scout & sign our players.
It's not such an easy conversation with an elite manager coming into one of the largest clubs on planet, especially when that club is on it's arse & desperate to regain former glories, they are obviously going to want more influence on signings,it's their reputation as well as the clubs at stake.
Ditching Ralf from his consultancy role may well have been one of the biggest mistakes we've made post SAF but I can see why ETH would have wanted more influence than he would of probably had,had Ralf remained at the club.
Clearly all the managers post SAF have had too much influence & in many cases their signings haven't proved to the right ones.
We all know the common denominator in all of this & until they go the structure & culture of the club won't change.
Yeah but then you look at the management above him.
These goons wanted to bring Greenwood back and brush that video under the carpet.
Absolute vermin!
Hopefully the Vermin above are not long of the place.
