Not going to lie, I'm nervous that this game comes so soon after a big European tie, while Newcastle have had a week off. Two ways of looking at this really, firstly I agree that Newcastle have had a week off and will be rested ,but they have real problems with Pope not being available-he’s been brilliant for them this season-and Karius hasn’t played a competitive game for ages;secondly we are coming off a brilliant win this week, have been playing extremely well throughout most of the season and have built a real momentum! I can’t wait!

Current form suggests we should win and the extra games up to now don’t seem to be having a detrimental effect surely the players will be given more rest time and a bit less training ?
Rashford could be a smoke screen time will tell but we have to be favourites, I’m going for a two nil win.

What evidence that we're suddenly gonna fall off a cliff for this particular game and suddenly be knackered? I thought more effort went into the first game against Barca, and we traveled back the same night and then went and twatted Leicester. If they are knackered, then the prospect of a trophy will and should see them through it.

Don't be surprised if we start the game shit and have to rescue it.

Praying for 10-0 just to put these weirdos in their place. Since they've been taken over they've become worse and worse as the weeks go. In a cup final and had a few draws and think they're something. Smash these melons.

In a cup final and had a few draws and think they're something. Smash these melons. Living in the North East I know several Newcastle fans. None of them are like this bloke. They are all very aware of what the club is and where it is in the scheme of football. Not all fans of football clubs are like the bellends that turn up online. That’s literally like judging all United supporters based on that Nottingham Forest nonce who literally everyone on this board can’t stand. I can assure you, based on actual conversations with Newcastle fans, that they do not think they’re something based on a few draws. They’ve got a few quid now, they’re having a good season and they’ve gotten rid of an awful owner who has dragged the club down for over a decade. The sensible fans are rightly positive. With all that being said, still smash them like.

This is my fear, we could come out flat after the high of Thursday and the sudden come down but this will be where Erik earns his corn. Im nervous already but I just hope we come out and really go at them and get that first goal, oh and praying rashy will be fit! 🙏

Really hope Rashford is fit, he is so vital for us. Would be so frustrating to lose to these pricks, even if it's 'only' the League Cup. Plus we are long overdue for a trophy.

I’m more nervous about this than I was Barcelona. It’s because of several things, the quick turn around, Rashford’s injury worry, the fact that we’re favourites and the crippling fear of losing to Newcastle fucking FC and the fall out that would follow in the media.
Nether the less, I’ll be up in front of the gogglebox at sparrow’s hoping the extensive cup final experience of our senior players and the exuberance of our younger and attack minded wide men will be enough for us to chalk the first (of many) cups for this, the new United.
