Yesterday was brilliant. The first trophy of my little boy’s lifetime and hopefully not the last.
Just to echo some of the words a few pages back, everyone on this board deserves this. We’ve sat through a lot of shit.

I just want to say a big thank you to Spurs for passing on Erik and taking Conte. I rate Conte, serial winner that can't overcome his current clubs terminal mediocrity. But I don't think Conte would have slipped seamlessly into the role for us like Erik has, I don't think he would have 'got' the club so quickly, if at all. I'm sure that if the roles were reversed, Spurs would be doing better and we would be doing worse. If Erik can turn the Rashford of the last 2 seasons into one of the best players in the world currently, AWB not look like a complete waste of money, and big Wout into a useful player when in the right role, he might actually have been able to make Spurs less Spursy.

I think it’s fair to say we’ve finally found the right manager and he’s surprised us all how fast he’s turned it round.
Plenty to look forward to.

Antony: "It’s my third trophy alongside him [Ten Hag], we hugged after the match and he said there’s more to come. We have the same mentality. Erik is essential. His energy, confidence, intelligence and strategy are incredible. Everything he tells us before the match, happens on the pitch, so he’s part of this." "I’m not one to be happy with little, I want trophies and everything, and there are a lot of players that also think like that. This mentality is spreading within the squad and everyone is rowing the boat towards the same direction. This group of players is amazing. We’re very united. When you have a good environment between players and staff, you can’t go wrong. I’m very happy to win my first title here in my first season. Since the beginning, I was certain this group would put #mufc back where it deserves. People need to respect this great club again. It’s the first trophy of many to come."

"The first one is in but there's three to go" WOUT WEGHORST
Lovely quote from Wout. He's very limited as a footballer but he's got the right mentality and along with Sabitzer has quickly become part of a tight-knit group of players who clearly want to win stuff.
Think we should definitely be targeting at least another cup. And why not make history and do a Europa League-Carabao Cup-FA Cup treble? We've already beaten Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham etc and if we can beat Barcelona we can beat any of the sides left in the Europa League. Of course injuries and fatigue might frustrate things and we are over reliant on Casemiro and Rashford but if we are comfortably within top 4 then we should be able to rest players before the big cup games to keep everyone fresh.
Just delighted that what everyone was expecting to be yet another transition season has served up a trophy with potentially more to come.

Don’t forget they are hardly training between matches and I have heard it said that they would rather play than train especially when you are winning…just think back to ‘99 …

So if Cole was injured or lost form, Ole could come in. We have Marcus and that’s it. We could really do with Martial getting bloody fit.
