Don’t forget they are hardly training between matches and I have heard it said that they would rather play than train especially when you are winning…just think back to ‘99 … I think the difference is that team in 99 had ridiculous firepower upfront. So if Cole was injured or lost form, Ole could come in. We have Marcus and that’s it. We could really do with Martial getting bloody fit.any way you cut it, I think he's done for the club. I paid attention to the pre-match presser that ETH did. He was very coy about Rashford and his availability for the game, not trying to play his hand to the opposition. When he was asked about Martial playing it was a blunt "no" he's not fit. not even trying to give the impression there was a chance he'd get a game. maybe I'm reading too much into it but the look and sound of it was as if ETH has already moved past Martial because he cant rely on him.

Oof, did not see that in real time. Fuck off. We all -- fucking every one of us -- thought Rashford fucked his touch . I think this is the exact moment I changed my mind on Rashford for good. That's a prime Ronaldo touch. Bloody hell.

We will suffer if anything happens to Casemiro or Rashford. But I think for other positions we have adequate cover and Sabitzer, Wout and Sancho returning to the first team squad give us a bit more depth and Erik has shown he can be a bit creative if necessary e.g. reinventing Shaw as a makeshift CB to avoid playing Maguire and both Wout and Sancho have had turns in a number 10 position.
Erik is reluctant to rotate but I think if we become a bit more efficient we'll be able to sub key players off to keep them fresh and hopefully by the time we get to later rounds of the cup competitions top 4 will be sewn up and the title will be out of reach so we can rest players before those games.
But I think in general when you are winning and chasing trophies and team spirit is so strong burnout is less of a factor than when you are in a dogfight for top 4 and wasting energy feuding with teammates like we are most seasons.

He'll be fine, he just needs to stay fit. Failing which he'll be a fine Bench player.

It’s the wrong thread to take this further on, but Martial has proved he can’t stay fit enough to even warm the bench.

Google man United, and they give you some lovely fireworks. Sure it's already been spotted before now but I've only just seen it 🤣
