We’re at the stage of the season where draws do very little for us. Win our next three (West Ham A, Wolves H, Bournemouth A) and only Brighton can mathematically catch us, which is unlikely if we win those given they still have to play City, Arsenal and Newcastle, the latter two away. That gives a full week, with games against Chelsea and Fulham (both at home), to rest players before the cup final.
The next three are all teams that either have other priorities (Europe) or are safe with nothing to play for. Win those three and we’re golden. It really shouldn’t be that hard, but sure we will make it that way.

Get rid at any price in the summer, for his own sake I hope his agent can sort him a deal back to France because he won’t cut it in any of the top leagues.
Disappointing result, I would have accepted a draw because reality is they are a better team and play far better football than us.
Not having 4th, these guys have to be aiming to finish 3rd, it’s a few games where they simply need to roll up their sleeves, dig deep and perform

I'm pretty confused as to why Shaw didn't get a second yellow for the handball at the end?
Seen red cards given for that, many many times.

Weghorst just might be the worst footballer in the league , god only knows why ETH brings him on every game instead of Pellistri. But at least he is a loan an will soon be fucked off, Sancho on the other hand...

Wank result.
Shite in the final third like many times this season with too many big chances missed.
Fred showed his limitations, if he’s against a team that can play around him then he’s pretty ineffective.
Defensively we were alright, thought Shaw especially was very good again up until the penalty. Lindelof decent too. Us trying to play out from the back was as frightening as it usually is and AWB’s plan of allowing Mitoma as much space as he wanted on his left without even closing him down could have quite easily cost us.
We should still comfortably make top 4, but it’s another example of our lack of depth and a top striker, and this habit of being shite in the second half.

Why is Antony always hooked? He’s the only one that looks like doing something most of the time. And for the final time- putting on Weghorst is literally choosing to go down to 10 men, he’s that fucking useless. Probably because he’s the only one that also looks like he could get sent off. I think he’s done well and improved considerably over the season (albeit still v frustrating at times), but he’s so easy to wind up and Fred actually did something good when he pushed him away. Needs to sort that shit out otherwise it’ll cost us at some point. |
