I think ETH has done a decent job until now , but these kind quotes are not helping him really " Erik ten Hag: "I can't blame my team, they put all the effort in."" Stop defending these lazy bums or it wont be long before he is thrown under the bus just like Jose. Roy Keane was absolutely right Dunno what he wants to achieve with that tripe I just hope it is some usual manger press conference fluff and he is giving them the hairdryer treatment in the dressing room.

I don’t understand the point of his post match comments at all these days. Unless he’s trying to say they’re shit? Like, they work hard like donkeys, but in the end they’re donkeys and not good football players. I can live with that. 😂 Managers have to back their players in front of the media, he's got to work with them until the end of the season after all. For me press conferences ain't the place for honest opinions because the media will take it and create all kinds of speculative stories.

He's not helping himself by saying this but at the same time I take this shit with a pinch of salt this season. Certainly not getting worked up about it. We don't know what's said behind closed doors. However sometimes it is best to just say nothing.

Not making excuses for Dave but had we done the business the other end of the pitch that mistake would have been a minor blip. Instead because we can't finish our dinner so it's made it more significant. I'd keep him on for another year, we need to spend the money in far more important postions right now. The mistakes can't be ignored anymore but he's far from the biggest problem in that squad. Your going to have tight games in a season and you can't afford to have someone like that between the sticks.

The problem is what position do you sacrifice upgrading to replace him? I can't see us having a huge transfer pot to play with so something will have to give.

I hope they fuck it up and finish outside the top 4, they don’t deserve it. Let the penny fully drop and then fuck half the squad off who are not even close to being good enough. It’s just diabolical. ETH takes a good chunk of the blame as well, it’s as if we haven’t got a fucking clue what we are meant to be doing. I honestly thought he’d implement a style of football that would have its ups and downs in terms of result due to the quality of players, but would be decent to watch. It’s literally the opposite. There’s no consistency, it’s often wank to watch, and the players look clueless. I literally can’t wait for the end of the season already. i tend to agree.. some of the football is brilliant at times, but it doesnt work when hes putting square pegs in round holes. fucking weghorst in the 10. Bruno out wide. Rashford up front. non of it works. Eriksen - as much of a lovely player he is, cant run so hes bypassed when it comes to defending. Casemiro isnt the quickest but hes having to cover the ground of Eriksen, which is making him play badly. its all just a massive shit show. play the players in the proper positions. as bad as weghorst is, at least Rashford and Bruno play better when they are in their correct positions.

Ten Hag hasn't helped himself by denying minutes to any of the young players who might have gained experience and confidence through playing. Perhaps Mainoo and Iqbal, for examples, can both cover ground and pass/receive the ball?

The problem is what position do you sacrifice upgrading to replace him? I can't see us having a huge transfer pot to play with so something will have to give. I'd certainly prioritise other positions but the goal keeper is a key component in any defensive unit. Once you lose confidence, you have to fix the problem. Either way, this club needs to spend another mountain of cash to rebalance the squad.

I'm afraid this goes far beyond his odd howler. I love DDG, but he clearly doesn't fit with ETH's system. He has a huge part in the evident collective panic when we try to play the ball from the back. I love the guy and find it hard to criticise him given what he's done for us over the years but it's come to a point now where his weaknesses are being exploited too often and that's without the occasional howler. Don't get me wrong I'm not dumbing it down either, as I said last night the mistakes are inexcusable. The problem is replacing him with a top keeper isn't going to be cheap and we're in a position where too many other areas are far more important. Even if Qataris do take over they're not going to be able to fix every issue in one window. Individually Dave is far from being the weakest link. The thing is that you can't fix the defense when instead on focusing on their own football, defenders have to worry about an imminent clusterfuck behind them. Even the poorest of opponents exploit that weakness and apply pressure which we cannot handle, as proven time and again.
I read this morning about a brilliant West Ham, but last night I spent the first half thinking this was the poorest West Ham I have ever seen.

definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Was thinking the same, expecting De Gea to play the ball out short when he clearly is shit at it, expecting Sancho and Martial to get a sweat on and actually do something useful for the team, expecting the horse to score or even win a header, and so on....

Also don't understand this goal kick routine we seem to have of having 2 defenders in the 6 yard box just to pass it to De Gea. It's counter productive bullshit.
Bin it.

Playing square balls across you penalty box has always been bullshit. If you want to play out, then you need someone from midfield to drop into space to receive it. It will always be the most effective way of beating the press despite what fads coaches come up with.
