Couldn't understand why they didn't go for Rabiot on a free(before he signed a one year deal at Juve) and another young CDM. I'm not going to write off Mount this early, but he wan't a priority if we were strapped.
Hopefully it gets sorted. The front three were shit and don't work hard enough for the team either

DDG would never have gone in there. I’m happy we have Onana, but DDG also doesn’t steam in to give away a stonewall pen that we somehow get away with. Onana needs to wise up very very quickly. DDG's first year was a learning curve as well and did some seriously bonehead things that actually cost us goals. One I can remember, in the community shield in his first year. I agree with you, Onana needs to wake up fast because 2 things he did today could have cost us the match. |

How exactly was it obvious we were about to play shit, be unable to pass a ball, have nothing up front and get ran off the park by Wolves? Because no one seemed to think it was obvious before the game, including yourself. Every post was about 4 and 3-0 wins. You said Mangerless, Nevesless, Strikerless Wolves. What could possibly go wrong!
Looking forward to see how that midfield runs and is set up with Mount. We've got a nice run to the end of Septemeber with just Arsenal and Spurs tricky away games, until we get our new Striker up and running! Hopefully a new right sided defender and a good addition in MF.Where's the "It's obvious what's about to happen" post? "Looking forward" to the game doesn't sound like you thought it was obvious how shit we were going to be, quite the opposite in fact. |

Silver lining is we're 3 points better off than we were last season. Let's hope that dross never resurfaces again though. It was painful to watch.
They all need to watch that back again and learn from it. As I'm sure Erik will make sure of.

Mount is never a CM player, nowhere near good enough on the ball to play in the engine of the team. I know it's one game but it's just fucking obvious. Two number 10s in the heart of midfield just doesn't work. Balance is everything in that position and we've really solved nothing in midfield by signing Mount. Bruno giving the ball away consistently and players rushing into space is beyond anyone, even Casemiro. We need to sign midfield players who can play centrally or we can forget about this season. Ten Hag doesn't help himself but he doesn't have the tools to compete. The top teams will piss all over us. |
