I’m happy we have Onana, but DDG also doesn’t steam in to give away a stonewall pen that we somehow get away with. Onana needs to wise up very very quickly. Onana was excellent tonight. Never a penalty. Thought he did really well. He had fuck all movement in front of him at times, stopping the quick ball out from feet, but that will take time. Varane was outstanding and AWB did well

If that’s indicative of Rashford and Bruno for the rest of the season, find buyers for them now.

Rashford just does not work as a 9, at all. Been tried multiple times over many years and never looked competent in the position.
We really need one more option in there for when Hojlund not available. Doesn't have to be a 80M player just a natural number 9 who can come in and perform to a half way decent standard. Christ, there has to be someone.
*Discounting Martial obviously as he can never stay fit.

Don’t worry, we’ll be punished retrospectively like we did with City at home last season.

Mainoo’s injury was desperately unfortunate. He would have played significant minutes if the chatter was anything to go by and he’d add some legs and energy alongside Casemiro. How serious is the Mainoo injury?

Talk of October for Mainoo return, so a pretty serious injury, would have been out for 3 months; which means he'd need time to get back up to speed too.
Tonight highlighted the need for something else in midfield as well as up top. Maybe Mainoo and Hojulnd returning will provide that, but we shouldn't be banking on it.
McTominay is a Dyche type of player surely. Offer Everton him and 30M for Onana and get it done.

Sadly you just gotta play martial this weekend and hope he lasts an hour Don't think ETH trusts him anymore why would he? hope Rasmus gets fit soon we are woeful up front. He can’t trust any of them We need to play with a striker, rashford is not that and is wasted there.

Desperately poor performance but I’ll save the overreaction until after the spurs game. They are full of running, energy and pressing so let’s see how we stand up against that.

We are so poor in possession, lot of careless passes and bad decision making. Lucky 3 points, if Wolves finishing was better they could have scored 3 or 4 goals.
Mount is a poor signing and not what we need at the moment. Not sure what we are going to do if Hojlund doesn't hit the ground running. We are trusting a 20 year old who is new to the league to start performing right away with no backup.

Have to ask myself again, why do I keep going to this game every single year?
Haven’t been through the rest of the thread yet, so may be repeating a few points.
Don’t think Mount in the midfield is going to work. He’s never played deep in his career and doesn’t have the capacity to control a game. He looked like he didn’t understand what was being asked of him yesterday and was trying too hard. Ultimately, you could walk through the centre of our midfield again.
Garnacho was torrid. Such a shame, big chance for him to start first game of the season. Maybe as with last year, he’s still going to be better utilised coming on against tired legs at this stage of his career.
Bruno, like everyone else, was dogshit. But then he pulls that ball to AWB out which created the goal. That’s why he stays on the pitch every week.
We got away with one at the end, but they’ll level that out this weekend with a dodgy decision in favour of Spurs.

We need to sign 2 high quality midfield players just to keep up going on that performance for this season, can anyone see that happening?

Garnacho is all potential, I also get the feeling he's abit of a Jack the lad and needs some tough love to ensure he fulfils his massive potential. Coming off the bench against burnt out defenders is always going to be easier than starting a match and he's just not ready for that.
