Antony was available for like 50m then we pissed about as usual and then got stung for 90 that's not on ETH, at that point someone above says sorry we can't pay that money and move on. He's nowhere near worth that. Yeah but at the time I don't remember anybody being against the deal, but he's just turned out to be absolutely shite

Yeah it was crazy as soon as they said 90 the club should have said sorry, we can get better, but it's the same thing, how many players have we done this with, other clubs over pay and buy duds sometimes but every window if we buy 4 players 2-3 will be wank, something is seriously wrong.

I don't think anyone seriously thought we should be paying 100m euros for Antony. I gave Erik the benefit of the doubt because he coached the player and the Glazers did their usual thing of last minute panic buying which is always going to inflate the price. But he's been a terrible signing especially when you consider that teams like Liverpool and West Ham were getting Gakpo and Kudus for about £40m. And it seemed doubly bizarre when you consider that Erik clearly wasn't getting along with Ronaldo and therefore a striker who could score goals was a more pressing need.
And it is true that other clubs sign duds. Nunez hasn't been setting the world alight for Liverpool. Grealish has improved for Manchester City but he hasn't been £100m good. But both clubs have signed other players that have worked out well so it balances out.
We've spent around £80m on Pogba, Maguire, Lukaku, Sancho and Antony. None of those transfers can be viewed as successes. And that is a pretty pathetic batting average.

Well no point in hoping for new arrivals in Jan...... it'll be all about getting as much deadwood off the books as we can i would imagine but even then we'll struggle at doing that. But this squad really could do with an injection of something in the new year, something or someone to lift the place. Manchester United's chief operating officer Colette Roche warned a meeting of the clubs' Fans Forum earlier this month to expect a quiet transfer window. Roche led the meeting following the exit of chief executive Richard Arnold and said this on United's transfer plans. "We are not expecting it (January) to be particularly busy. "There will always be the possibility of deals around the edges of the squad. However, we've always been consistent in saying that we do not see January as the optimal time to do business and our recruitment strategy remains focussed on summer windows. "We've seen this season that Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules have real teeth, so we have to be very careful to ensure we remain compliant, and we will. "But that means being really disciplined on spending going forward, with a balance between incomings and outgoings. I've read several articles over the past few days with John Murtough backing up those excuses. It's disgusting that we can't sign anyone in a January window anymore. It just frustrates me even more to know those Glazer c*nts are sitting back and enjoying their lives as this sh*t show continues.

Free or not we didn’t really need him and he’s not all that anyway. Just one of many brain dead decisions this club has made over the last decade. Erik’s transfer decisions are really mind boggling. So many poor and expensive decisions since he signed. With the money he spent, we should’ve been SO MUCH better. I think it was Sam Allardyce who said once that transfer decisions make or break a manager, and it is very clearly shown with ETH this season. He made a series of poor decisions and here we are.
It's a shame his name wasn't Sam Allardici otherwise he would have suceeded Fergie!

What is really annoying is that Greenwood had to go and ruin his career with us. He is doing very well in Spain. Griezmann said after the Atletico game "Mason Greenwood was really causing us problems in the second half, we couldn't stop him and it cost us the game".
United must be interested in keeping him otherwise we would have cancelled his contract a while back. He's doing well in Spain, and I have a feeling the club could use it as an excuse to keep him because he is still young and is literally the only in-form player we have.

I Don't think Barcelona or Madrid care about his very recent past either. If he continues on his current form he will definitely reach the heights we all thought he could. He (maybe unsurprisingly) still looks set to be one of the Top talents in Europe.

Reports are saying that when OGS was in charge we scouted Antony and valued him at around £25m. Sounds about right to me.

For a week now, I've seen stories growing about a move for Takefusa Kubo. Still only 22 - it feels like he's been around for ever!, he is definetly an upgrade on Anthony with plenty of experience and years ahead of him. But, even if he costs 50 quid, I dunno if the Glazers would splash out.. As a fan of Japanese players, fingers crossed from me! lol

Coming from Real Sociedad to United is a whole different ball game. Antony flourished at Ajax and has fell completely flat here. Rodrygo is a definite upgrade because we see him at the highest level, anything not at that level is just a hope or a guess.

Apparently Murtough messed up our plan to seduce Bellingham. Ole sensibly wanted Fergie to finish off the presentation telling Bellingham how he'd progress at the club. Murtough overruled this and restricted Bellingham to shaking hands with Fergie and insisted on giving the Old Trafford tour to Bellingham himself.
