🔴⚪️🇨🇴 Excl: Sevilla agree deal to sign Mateo Mejia from Manchester United on permanent transfer. Documents to be signed next week. 2003 born striker will leave the club on free permanent deal as contract was due to expire in June. #MUFC will have 25% sell-on clause for Mejia. I wish we would put in buy back clauses…

The loan deals for Hannibal and fernandes include buy options for Sevilla and benfica respectively but also have buyback options for us supposedly. If correct then smart moves. The benfica has wider picture in that you hope they negotiate well for us for their young midfielder in the summer. The kid looks special.

Romano:
🚨⚪️🔴 Understand Man United will NOT have buy back clause for Hannibal Mejbri.
🇹🇳 Sevilla can buy Hannibal in June for €20m, this is the value of the buy option clause.
Hannibal travels to Spain tonight. 🛫

Guessing getting youngsters out is mainly around the positive impact to FFP this brings.
Can someone more intelligent than me confirm if this is correct or not, as the whole amortization thing confuses me.
Using Sancho as an, obvious, example. Sancho cost 85M and is on, say, 15M per season, and a 5 year deal. That's 160 million for the full package, but spread over 5 years; so 32M per season as an impact to FFP. So, come the summer United would have paid 96M towards Sancho in terms of FFP, and have 64M left to cover. If Sancho is sold for 40M, what then?
Are United still in the hole for the remaining 24M, so the sale actually negatively impacts FFP and reduces it by a further 24M? Are his saved wages factored in, so 40M brought in + 30M saved in wages means FFP is positively impacted by 6M?
And is it only when the length of their original contract is up that any negative impact to FFP can occur? So Maguire leaving this summer would be classed as pure profit as he's completed his 5 years, so all "debt" to FFP is paid off?

INEOS have requested a buy back clause in the deal for Hannibal should Sevilla buy him in the summer. Smart move, there is something there with the kids so we should ensure there is a relatively easy root back for him if he shines.

Sad to see Hannibal go. I'd rather he be a first reserve at CM, ahead of McTominay.

Not saying Scott should be ahead but at least Case has had a chance and been rubbish, Hannibal hasn't really had that.

Would not be impressed if Dan Gore is loaned to League One, reckon he could handle himself in the championship and to be honest the way we are letting youngsters go he has to be able to handle that to stand a chance

Hannibal seemed to be the next kid up, but after string of performances where he let his emotions get the best of him and kinda looked like a walking red card I guess ETH thinks he needs to mature on loan. Could they be looking to completely revamp our youth pool in the summer?

Could they be looking to completely revamp our youth pool in the summer? The talk seems to be that ETH just wants higher youth standards i.e Mainoo and Garnacho who just seem to get better with each game. You then have Hojlund, granted we bought him but if the guy had the service he'd score more goals. Hannibal I like but my only confusion really is that his development has seen him become more a runner whereas when he was younger he was creative, I haven't seen that creativity when he has come on. I just don't want another Mikel situation where they come in creative and are used as DM's. If he does well at Sevilla, the fee we get would be nice but I don't think they have the money so I expect him back or to be sold elsewhere. Who knows playing in La liga he might show that creative side to his game again

Chatter about Lucas Bergvall, only 17 and the next big thing in Swedish football. Been invited over a couple of times already. Would only cost about 8M, exactly the kind of signing we need. Long term planning for once.
Also seems the talk of Amad to Middlesbrough was wide of the mark and he's staying.

For every galactico type signing we should also be adding prospects to the squad as long as we don’t hold on to them for too long (release them after 4-5 years if they are not pulling up any trees). The likes of Hannibal and pellistri are at that time where they need to be moved on as I don’t think either will ever reach the level needed for a top side but with a buy back clause just in case and replaced with the next set of prospects.
