We are doing far too much defending and letting far too many goals in a good team builds from the back and should have a rock solid back line with a strong midfield, look at City (which I dont like doing) but its the reality, they are mostly on the front foot its about how many they can score instead of how many they concede.
Comes back to the owners again and again we need them out so we can buy the best out there and ETH getting it balanced.

I have to absolutely disagree with you there - De Gea was 20 when he signed, raw and inexperienced. Onana is in his prime and this cannot be a viable excuse for his performances. We are supposed to have bought a player ready to deliver, not one with potential and rough around the edges. You're absolutely right, obviously. Onana had the highest number of clean sheets in the CL last season so there are no excuses. I suppose what we're realizing is that the weight of expectations associated with wearing the Utd shirt can absolutely crush players who otherwise perform really well elsewhere. It was a stupid stupid mistake from him ,lets hope its not repeated. But as others pointed out he was a CL finalist with Inter last season ,so he is doing something right obviously. Main issue seems to be our shit defence and midfield who allows shooting practice to opposition players in and around the box. Even if you cant block atleast press and make things difficult. Amrabet (if he is as good as people says he is) and Varane returning should improve things a lot.

Onana aside, credit where it’s due to Reguilon. He actually looked like he gave a shit all match and looks a very useful addition to the squad. Few months with our guys will flush that right out of his system.

McTominay should be sent to keep Sancho company, clearly head is elsewhere,I wouldn't give him another minute for the club & fuck him off in Jan.

Not sure what's happening to be honest, our midfield was better last season, but seems to be no energy there. Bayern had the same number of opportunities as United, but they were way more clinical just because our midfield and defence just stood off. No one was flying into people. Casemiro gave a shit in the final 20mins, I saw him on the deck jumping into tackles but if you ask me if he was playing the first 70mins I thought he was on the bench.
There is no desire in the team bar a few players and I am starting to think having Bruno as captain might not have been the best choice, when heads are down, you dont need your captain to be sulking and complaining. Not sure who would suite in this fucking squad of mediocrity.

Give him his due at least he owned it. Won't see that from any of the others. Just excuses about how we should do better. Was a howler of a mistake but he's only just got here so deserves the benefit of the doubt for that one I think. Needs to learn from it though. I mean he could’ve learned from it from his entire career. That sort of poppadom wrist stuff is all too common with him. Fair point. I was just mentioning the fact that he asked to speak during an interview to show responsibility. Something you won't see from the others. It's nice to see a bit of accountability for once. Let's hope it isn't repeated occurrence.

His biggest problem is that he doesn't have competition, DDG was dogshit until we brought in Henderson. De Gea was never ‘dogshit’ ffs. Absolutely ridiculous thing to post. I mean he won player of the year 4 times and all but carried us for another several post Fergie. If not for him European football would have been a pipe dream for a few seasons. Not bad for dogshit eh.

We rejected a good offer from West Ham for Scotty. And then only accepted a signing on deadline day once we'd lined up the loan move for Amrabat. Hopefully we can get some money for him in January.
But yeah failing to shift Scotty and Maguire and use the funds to bring in someone like Pavard to bolster our defence could be costly. It is clear that Martinez's impressive first season owed a lot to having Varane alongside him and if Varane cannot stay fit then we are going to struggle a lot.
Eriksen is spent. Even last season he struggled in the big games and ran out of steam. This season he can only seem to last 10-15 minutes. He should be used as an impact sub or against teams that park the bus. Hopefully once Amrabat gets fully fit he will form a strong partnership alongside Casemiro and that will improve midfield dramatically. But of course if either Amrabat or Casemiro is injured then our midfield will turn back to shit again. Just as defence turns to shit whenever Varane is injured.
Things aren't as bad as they look. But it does show the soft centre of this side that all it takes is a few injuries to key players and a bit of adversity and we look like a midtable club. Once we are back at full strength and get a few wins under our belt we will build some momentum and probably have a good run of form. But then predictably once tiredness kicks in and we pick up a few injuries we will have another slump.
The danger of course which we saw with other managers is that if we cannot reverse this slump then it will be Erik rather than the players that get the sack. So really hoping that Amrabat is an instant success and Varane can quickly return to fitness and Hojlund scores lots of goals.
As we know all too well that when we are in a slump you can never count on Rashford to help get us out of a jam. He's contributed to 3 different managers getting the sack already.
