As poor as we've been this season and as uninspiring as the football has been, it's mad that we're only 6 points off the top of the table. 8 points when Spurs win tomorrow.

Hate to say it but ETH is the best of the rest atm losing him is losing another 2 years of stability....
Also Spurs are looking decent but have won fuck all with Postecoglu yet..

Yeah that is a good point. A lot is made of how many games we've lost this season but our win percentage in the Premier League this season is 56% which is better than LVG and Moyes and that will keep Erik in a job for now. As poor as we've been this season and as uninspiring as the football has been, it's mad that we're only 6 points off the top of the table.

Probably too skint to sack him yet. Maybe he’ll get to see the season out unless we’re in a relegation scrap.

Genuine question - if you want Ten Hag out, who do you want in to replace him? I think Zidane would be the only option who would be available and an upgrade , but no way he is going to suffer these fools.

Look i know the football is shit but most of us on here i bet wanted our current manager.
Hes dealing with a major injury problem at the back plus look at the off field shit hes had to deal with.
Most of his signings look ok although Antony is imo a major mistake.
The problem is the club we are set in a loop of buying players that are either not proven / propects who we over pay for or players who have 2 to 3 years left in them.
As was said above we need a plan as a club. A proper director of football. A Style of play that runs from the kids through to the first team. A transfer team that researches every potential player and gives the manager 3 players in every position that fits our style of play and arent dick heads.
Only an ownership change will facilitate all this. Without this it doesnt matter who our manager is.

Problem is, you seemingly need an ego to manage at United.
Being a great coach is simply not enough.

Also, we finished 11th, 2nd, 12th and 13th in SAF's first four years in charge (having finished top 4 in the four years prior). We only had one top 4 finish in the first five years of Sir Alex's time at United.
Ten Hag took a team that finished 6th to 3rd, and managed to win one of two finals he got to in his first season.
Both SAF and Ten Hag had proven successful at two football institutions (in their own right) prior to arriving at the club. Witholding my judgment for now!
I think Ten Hag might struggle with the authority + charisma required to manage United, but it could be something that comes with time and continued support from the club.
Keen to see where we end up at the end of the season, but there's a massive asterix over his time at the club so far just because of the malaise/paralysis around the ownership.

We won, very important considering the next league game is against City!
No need to even contemplate getting rid of the manager, he is no idiot (granted some questionable transfers). If we are all being honest, we know the issue is with the players, for some reason they are not doing what they are being trained to do.
Another issue we have is that the wingers he wants to start with simply are not creative, the just wanna cut in and shoot (there is a time for that but priority is feed Hojlund). Bruno looks a different player for us than Portugal and Casemiro is still on summer holiday.
