I’d buy that excuse if Erik’s signings were performing and legacy players weren’t. But it’s not that clear cut.
Scotty and Maguire are among our best performing players. Bruno is playing badly but he’s at least scoring some important goals. AWB is solid enough while Dalot is a liability and Lindelof has been poor.
Casemiro has been poor this season. Antony has been awful. Amrabat and Mount have been underwhelming (although deserve more time). Hojlund is doing nothing wrong and Onana is improving every week.
So no clear pattern. As a collective Erik isn’t getting the most out of them that is partly on the individuals partly on the coach but it needs to change because if our luck starts to run out then Erik will lose his job long before a full strength team is available for selection

What's preventing us from having a clear system of play? All we hear is Ten Hag is over training them. There's something else going on here because I can't understand how a coach who came through Ajax and alot of good clubs and has a pretty decent record in management can't establish a style of play after 18 months considering Eddie Howe did it in 6 months. Was that all luck or are the players incapable of following basic instructions? Yeah he might not be the coach we thought he was but whatever it is, it can't go on like this. His comments about pressing after the game yesterday was bs. If that was pressing then what were Fulham doing. I would imagine the fact about 6 or so of these players have been through about 3 different managers it's the players rather then the coaches I firmly believe this is one of the primary reasons. These players are survivors. Martial has survived 5 different managers.

So the lads (with Rashford sitting out obviously) went to a flashy restaurant/nightclub to celebrate beating Fulham in stoppage time.

ETH joint fastest manger for us to get to 50 wins Crazy stat considering...... even more crazy that Arsenal are just 6 points ahead of us and the scouse 5. The manner in which we have lost games hurts just as much as the loss itself

Ten Hag's win-rate at United now around 62.5% after 77 matches, best of any manager since SAF.
Obviously that will still change over time, but I'm really keen to see where he lands at around 100 games - that's about LVG territory (52.43% win-rate).

Imagine Real Madrid players going out and celebrating beating Granada or some random spanish club in a regular league match. ETH also talked about stopping Fulham from playing from the back as if that is some sort of achievement.

What we are seeing now is almost the limit of what this group of players can achieve. If they really dig in and play to their best we will finish 2nd or 3rd and may win an occasional FA cup or league cup.

I get both points, however this team seems so divided and the more time they can spend bonding the better.

The measure of success isn't win rate but playing in the biggest competitions (and going far in them) and winning trophies.
While there are some mitigating circumstances that should result in Erik being given more time he should be seriously considered for the sack if: -We fail to qualify for the Champions League (either via a top 4 finish or back-door by winning the Europa) -We get knocked out at the group stage in the Champions League (and do not go on to win the Europa league) -We have an earlyish exit from the FA Cup as well as the League Cup
But clearly it is helping to buy Erik time that even though performances have been consistently dire and there have been some embarrassing defeats we have been scraping enough wins to stay in the mix for top 4 and still have some hope of qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages.

Also worth noting that last season's impressive win percentage was explained by the usual new manager bounce, one season wonders Casemiro and Eriksen, Rashford's purple patch and Varane and Martinez managing to stay fit for most of the season. None of those operative factors are in place this season so Erik is being a little naive resting on last season's laurels and using last season as justification for keeping the faith in the players and waiting for everyone to return to full fitness. New signings should have refreshed the team and given us more strength in depth but clearly that hasn't been the case so far.

Going to a swanky restaurant/club getting all dressed up just seems like indulging in a lifestyle they don't deserve based on this season's performances rather than a healthy team bonding exercise. Of course this is what millionaire footballers do regardless of results and is one of the perks of the job.
But if the rule is that they only get to go out clubbing when they win games and that motivates them to play better then I guess as pride in the shirt and respect for the fans doesn't motivate them then access to bottles and girls might. Works mates go for food and drink after work, how is this even a story, hardly like they was out till 5 in the morning sniffing a load of coke of a brasses tits
