We’ll win some, we’ll lose some. That’s the season in a nutshell. No consistency, don’t really care. Thought Amad was an instant improvement. I sort of gave some rationale behind the McTominay sub in the previous game after people had slagged it, but it seemed much too early in this game and at a stage where we weren’t chasing it. Can’t see why we wouldn’t have held off on it. Garnacho continues to be impressive. It is what it is. FA Cup next is it? Wigan, fucking hard game that. |

Anybody that bring Scott McTominay onto the pitch for tactical reasons doesn't just deserve to lose their job, they need sectioning.
I'm not a fan of wanting managers gone but I really don't see where or how he turns this around now. Delusion is usually the next stage to the inevitable.
This squad will never go anywhere with some of these currently players in it. I'm adding Rashford to that list aswell.
Get that armband off Bruno aswell. I thought Maguire was a bad example, Bruno is even worse.
In all the years I've followed this club I've never disliked a group of players so much as I do with this lot. They're a disgrace to the shirt they wear.

He should have kept Mainoo in, played Rashford on left Garnacho on right and put anyone else ,even scott as the striker.
Not that it will change the outcome but we have some chance.

That was my thoughts. As mightyez said at the beginning we should keep the shape. Rashford left Garnacho right and almost anyone in the middle.
Antony should be out asap…

Martinez, probably Shaw but id be looking at replacing him, mainoo garnacho, amad I think has a higher ceiling that pellestri and the rasmus, but we definitely need a world class striker to work along side him, other then that the rest can go tbh, I'd probably keep AWB as a squad player but that once again is like another 10 players atleast we need and that's huge investment.

I would keep Martinez, Mainoo, Garnacho, Shaw, Amad, Mount and Hojlund.
Get a new GK, a CB, a CM, and another forward in the summer and we have a first XI we can build on.
Keep whoever we cannot sell this summer as squad players and try and blood some more youngsters.
The following summer have a fire sale of whoever is left given we'll have another transfer window to add 4 or 5 players.
And so long as we are buying quality rather than our usual overpriced mediocre crap and we will be on our way.

But I think we also need a new manager. I just do not see the value add with Erik.
We know his judgement when it comes to recruitment is terrible. And even with a recruitment team you still need the manager to have some input as he will be the one coaching and selecting the players. And I just do not think Erik really has a clue as to the way he wants to play.
He talks a lot about playing from the back, pressing from the front, controlling midfield. But there is little evidence of that on the pitch. His team selections are imbalanced. His game management is dreadful. The team falls apart against any well organized team with a proper game plan.
He plays favourites. There seem to be no consequences from failing to follow instructions on the pitch and he couldn't have chosen a worse captain than Bruno.
I think we need someone more pragmatic who can make the most out of the resources at his disposal and make incremental improvements every transfer window.
Erik I think would have been better off somewhere like Manchester City or Barcelona where he has a readymade squad of players who can play the kind of football he wants. But of course after blowing it with us he will never have a chance at those kind of jobs and will probably return to Germany or Holland which seems to be his level.
