Great to see Ruud back at the club.

Look at the state of this list. there are only about 4 on that list that should even be here. It just shows how badly this clusterfuck of a club has been run. SJR has one massive job on his hands.

Insane isn't it. No wonder our spending power is pathetic for a big club that mints money on the commercial side. Our annual wage bill is astronomical.
At least by summer 2026 most of them will be off our books which will result in an annual wage saving of 66m euros (keeping Bruno of course!). Of course they will all be leaving on a free. But can't be helped.

Just filled the redevelopment survey out and gone for the new stadium option.
Anyone else done it yet?

This seems overly ambitious:

This seems overly ambitious: Fuck me, that has shades of Woodward's comment about other teams dreaming about what we can do in the transfer market.

I love it, atleast somebody in the setup is talking about winning the bloody thing instead of the usual 'rebuilds' and 'processes'.
Edit: 2028 is too far, he could have said 2026 atleast!

Agreed…sorry but for me nothing like Woodward’s Billy Big Bollocks spouting… We need a stated ambition and plans to make it happen…

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be that optimistic, but that's been beaten the fuck out of me by the absolute turgid football we have witnessed for far too long now. At this moment in time just beating a mid table team seems beyond us, nevermind winning the league. Far too many false dawns and not enough consistency. We can't even string together a winning streak at the moment.

How is it possible that Mount is being paid more than Bruno? I knew about Sancho.

I think it’s the right goal for the club, to win the league by 2028. I think it could happen before that if something shifts and ETH finally becomes the manager we thought he would be for us, or if we make a bold move and bring someone else who clicks.
We need 1-2 more summers like this one to have a very good squad, we have a bunch of young players who will develop, it’s really down to coaching at that point.

I think that salary list is out of date. After it was published Bruno signed a fat new contract and is now thought to be on the same money as Rashford.
And as predictably as night follows day his performances have been crap this season.
I think 3 summers under INEOS should be enough to assemble a squad that can challenge for the title (including the one that has just passed). Especially as we've quietly fortified our youth teams with some incredibly promising 16 and 17 year olds some of whom will be ready for first team action within a few years time. Next summer priority should be upgrading our attack. Following summer we should be adding the finishing pieces to the jigsaw puzzle. And getting the right manager is also essential and that will determine whether we will be able to go the distance.
I am OK with that timeline because with the age profile of our squad and INEOS's steadfast refusal to entertain short term fixes I know that once we have assembled a squad that can challenge for the title we will be in the title race every season from then on. None of this bouncing in and out of top 4 which characterized the Glazers' reactive and short term approach.
