Rumours that we are talking to Forest about Danilo…
I am hoping we get Ugarte or Fofana…

Pretty happy with the window now. One of the simple targets should be to get players out, and better quality players in. So far, young Kambwala out, young Yoro in. Clear upgrade. Varane out, De Ligt in. Upgrade for me. AWB out, Mazraoui in. Upgrade. Martial out, Zirkzee in. Upgrade. Just need that DM in with Amrabat out for another upgrade.
Even Amas getting a chance ahead of Williams or Fernandes, or Collyer getting games instead of Donny (fat chance of him ever playing really though) are positives.

I think it's at that point now where Shaw just needs fucking off. As good as he is when fit, he can't be relied upon at all and we're going to go into another season without a fully fit natural LB.

It's been a good window. But I think we are taking a risk by prioritizing defence and leaving defensive midfield as an afterthought.
As dazjoe commented we seem to be lining up an Amrabat upgrade rather than a Casemiro upgrade. And Casemiro seems to be very much in Erik's first team plans.
Granted Casemiro looks fitter and had a proper pre-season. He also had some injury niggles last season which affected his game. But if Erik is keen to persist with him he needs to change the tactics. If we have a ragged shape like last season with very large distances between players then Casemiro's lack of mobility will mean he will continue to be a weak link. But with a more compact shape he might do better and be able to use his experience and footballing intelligence to compensate. It would also help if we got better at keeping the ball and controlling midfield which would reduce the amount of running our players need to do. And with our defensive additions we should really be able to play from the back more.
Also worth mentioning is that with the improvements in defence we should be able to play a higher defensive line which will automatically reduce the distances. And there was definitely a knock on effect from all the defensive injuries on the rest of the team which is Erik's main contention and perhaps the reason why he is willing to give Casemiro the benefit of the doubt. And as Erik suggested the whole team needs to follow instructions to make Casemiro's life easier. We cannot expect him to be the CDM superman who papers over the cracks like he did in his first season. And we cannot expect that of whatever cheap alternative to Ugarte we get to be. The sad thing though is that I think Ugarte could have performed that role for us buying Erik more time.

This is the key, the defense being shit was one of the main reasons why our midfield looked sparse. ETH wants his defenders on a higher line but the players we had last year werent the best with a high line

Signed a 7 year contract! At least they will have no attacking threat on the right and we can attack the back post when we play them. In all seriousness, he will do well there. Good move for him.

Who was it who thought we could have kept Varane longer?
He came off injured 20 minutes into his debut for Como.

15 mill for AWB could end up being quite the steal for them.

Goodluck to him , he'll be excellent for West ham. I know our players will struggle to beat him 1v1.

Chelsea are severely bloated isn't there anyone on their roster we could pluck? Surely they have to get rid of a few players
