£20m + £5m add-ons is being reported. Personally I would have been fine with that fee for Scotty. And there goes our most likely buyer for Scotty as well as our Plan B DM target. Napoli reportedly only want him on loan and unless they sell Osimhen probably don't have the cash to meet our £30m valuation.
And Chelsea are finalizing a deal for Felix so that probably ends their interest in Sancho. While PSG are seen as the most likely destination for Osimhen.
Not sure where that really leaves us. We can perhaps get £7m for Pellistri and probably a similar amount for Eriksen. But with our net spend already £90m it probably won't leave enough to fund a £50m bid for Ugarte and after overspending the last two summers I cannot imagine INEOS wanting to risk falling foul of FFP.
Interesting to see what INEOS do now.

Not arsed losing out on Berge at all. Would much prefer Ugarte. Just hope we get one in before the window ends because we're one midfielder getting injured away from being up shit creek without a paddle.

What other alternatives do we have for Ugarte?

What other alternatives do we have for Ugarte? Very few at this stage. Preposterous situation in all honesty. We’ve bought about 200 defenders but it won’t matter a shite unless we get midfield sorted asap.

A much shorter list than before. Fofana signed for AC Milan. Danilo picked up a serious injury. Berge seems set for Fulham. Rabiot I imagine his wage demands and advanced age make him unattractive to INEOS. Zubimendi wants to stay in Spain. Napoli do not want to sell Ederson. Hjulmand has a release clause of £67m which Sporting are holding out for. Manu Kone would be my pick. Reportedly available for less than £30m and wants to leave and his club aren't going to stand in his way. Only 23 years old so fits with the INEOS ethos. Honestly I don't see the issue with PSG demanding £50m for Ugarte. They paid the same price last year and he didn't flop for them he just didn't fit the manager's plans. As we have seen clubs don't willingly sell to us on the cheap as we found out with Berge with Burnley wanting £30m (but then selling to Fulham for £20m + £5m add-ons). And we should have stuck to the plan and bought Ugarte before De Ligt. Hermoso was available on a free and would have been a fine alternative as well as being able to provide added cover at LB. But we didn't really explore alternative CB targets because we were fixated on De Ligt. What other alternatives do we have for Ugarte?

we got rejected, they go in with less... Pretty sure if we give him any indication we will come for him, he'll reject the move and ride it out i shall sit down and take my medicine. Madness all around

If we really are broke then Rabiot wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. Put him on a 2-3 year deal and be tough on wages. Juventus have a contract offer on the table for 7m euros a year. That is in line with what we pay squad rotation players. And he's better than Mount and Eriksen and better than Casemiro (last season's form) and definitely better than Berge and can play as a number 6 and as a number 8.
And really it is the exact same deal we did for Eriksen. Brought him in on a free because we'd ran out of cash. And while he only gave us about half a season the heart condition probably didn't help whereas Rabiot is very athletic and I think he could give us 2-3 good years as a squad rotation player and this season at least provide some insurance in case Casemiro goes into decline again.

What other alternatives do we have for Ugarte? This is the latest and greatest after Fulham went after Berge and left us with Scotty. If we keep Scotty it's not the end of the world, he is serviceable would allow for us to give guys rest in Cup matches as long as we still get Ugarte
