Chelsea have a combined 191 YEARS left on their contracts almost DOUBLE that of the next club.
City have hundreds of charges against them that their expensive lawyers will ensure drag on for years and years without any consequences.
Barcelona buy players they struggle to register because of their bloated wage bill and end up having to sell rights to the club piecemeal and do sweetheart deals with other clubs.
Maybe the powers that be should be focusing on the egregious abuses rather than restricting us to a £100m net spend when we have new owners keen to restore the club to former glories.

Latest is that PSG are willing to sell Ugarte on a loan + obligation to buy but still insisting the purchase price is £51m which we still think is too high. Apparently we value him at around £42m.
I think at this point we are being ungrateful. They are being very accommodating helping us get around FFP and not demanding the money upfront. They are not asking for an unreasonable transfer fee especially when you consider the crazy prices midfielders have been sold for in recent seasons.
Hopefully we see sense and the looming deadline gets a deal done. But when Ugarte could be the difference between a top 4 finish and a Europa league finish I do not see the issue of paying £10m more than we would ideally like to especially when we don't have to pay the money until next summer. And the difference in revenues from qualifying for Champions League and failing to qualify is at least £10m so it is total false economy not to pay up in this case. Especially when there are no suitable alternatives that are available for a reasonable valuation.

If anyone told me start of the summer that for under £200m we could buy Yoro, De Ligt, Mazraoui, Zirzkee and Ugarte I'd have told them to keep dreaming. Because with those 5 signings we would have considerably bridged the gap between us and our rivals. So really hoping INEOS don't drop the ball and screw this up over a £9m valuation difference.

I get the ego thing but I also think they aren’t stupid… I think they will take the deal… Pissed off if we don’t get him…

I get wanting to be smarter in the market and if it was in the region of 20m+ I would understand but given the lack of options available arguing over 9m isnt really worth it. We stand to lose out massively by turning it down, especially if it means us not having the depth to get back into the top 4, the added funds there along cover the offset.
Looks like McTominay is staying so will probably leave on a free. Sell Sancho, Hannibal and Pellestri before next summer. That will more than cover the transfer fee and more.

If he is as good as we are hoping him to be behind Mainoo and helps us solidify the hole in our midfield then 51 mil will be a steal. It's a risk worth taking so I think they need to stop with the hard ball and get him in so he's ready for Liverpool

It seems a no-brainer to front load our acquisitions. Even if it cuts into next year's budget at least we have another year to try to sort out exits for unwanted players. And top 4 would be far more likely if Ugarte came in this summer and we need Champions League football to be taken seriously.
Although heaven knows how we will shift players like Sancho, Rashford, Mount, Antony, Casemiro etc with the wages they are on. And it can't be good for morale having overpaid players warming the bench. I don't envy INEOS.
Pellistri seems to be on his way. And we should just accept whatever we can get for Hannibal and focus on getting a decent sell on percentage. At least it will benefit next year's budget.
Scotty we've probably lost our opportunity to get a decent fee for him. His contract expires next summer (although we have a 1 year contract extension option). At that point he will be 29. So may just be best to get a few more years out of him as a squad rotation player at which point we'll either have someone like Collyer ready to step up or will have the funds to buy a replacement.

Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri has joined Greek club Panathinaikos.
Pellistri played for Uruguay at Copa America and featured for United in their Community Shield defeat by Manchester City earlier this month.
Sources say United will receive a £5.1m fee for the player, with up to £1.7m possible in additional payments.
United also have a buy-back option for three years and will receive 45% of any sell-on fee.

Old group would have told Pana they'd give them 45% of the sell on clause.... crazy what happens when the Adults are at the table.
