Seems like yoro wants Madrid, if that's the case the only way we would probably get him is by offering him a daft contract, would be a great start with him and de ligt, but can't see yoro coming if he's set on Madrid.

Yeah i thought that but reality is if they don't cough up and agree a deal with Lille, the player has to decide on whether he comes to us or runs down his contract. I don't see us upping our wages to him, I think those days might be over. Maybe you just guarantee him a certain number of games or chuck in a buyout clause.

It’s fascinating and refreshing to see the club handle multiple transfers/ bids at the same time.

At least it makes those fuckers at Madrid pay up if nothing else.

Yoro is a Varane clone. Hopefully the outcome is different this time around

50m euros accepted. Ball is in Real Madrid's court.
Also a bit harsh on Varane. We got him past his prime and injuries were a bit of an issue. But he improved our defence a lot. People rave about Martinez but having someone as experienced and composed as Varane alongside him definitely helped him adapt so quickly to the English game and that partnership was instrumental in Erik's first season success and that centre back pairing won us two cup finals! It was the right decision to let him go with the wages he was on and his inability to play more than 20-30 games a season. But I wouldn't call the transfer a failure.

Varane and Casemiro came for what everyone understood was a short term instant impact. I would say they achieved that, even with Casemiro’s drastic drop in form/fitness. Two trophies in their time and who can forget 20+ matches unbeaten with Casemiro/ Eriksen/ Bruno.

Deal might fall through. The mayor seems very against the deal with some choice comments:
Greenwood’s behaviour is unspeakable, unacceptable.. Hitting his wife… I saw images that deeply shocked me. Attacking his wife in this way is unworthy of a man and I believe he cannot have a place in this team,” Payan stated.
Hard to disagree with him really. And the supporters' group is also in uproar. So will be a lot of pressure on the club president to scupper the deal.

I think he meant that Varane chose Madrid over United, rather than any kind of dig at Varane’s eventual time here.
