Casemiro is only 32, i think he can do a good job coming in as a sub if Ugarte is there to cover ground. We saw how good he can be in his first season,i think last season was partly due to his injuries. For the money he is on, no way can the club keep him as a sub, if we are all honest it's been another absolutely terrible signing by the club once again, we need to get him gone and carry on with the clear out. Hopefully that’s the last aging Madrid cast-off we ever go for. Ludicrous notion that we should have a player on the books for as much money as he’s on just to warm the bench.

I’m going to hold my hands up- I thought Amrabat was going to be a solid player for us but he was shite. He put in a shift in the Cup final but we need so much more. Glad he’s not being bought.

Helped those guys fund their midfield for the next 7 years with what we paid them and the replacement they brought in.

What I’ve read is that we’re not going to meet the £20m release clause but would still consider purchasing him. With you though, rubbish player. Loads of effort, but crap.

I was all for getting him in if the fee was reasonable but I think I'd rather just trust in Collyer and give him some minutes this season instead. He'll either do well and prove an option for the following season too, or not be good enough and at least we'll be able to sell for a bit of coin after he's been playing first team football.

That’s pretty left field… Anyone know anything about him? Edit: just watched a YouTube video of him… Looks really skilful and lively… Yeah it’s YouTube but still…at £17m definitely worth a punt…

Does smell of an agent using the club’s name to try and get his guy a move to Europe.

never seen him play but he was highlighted talked about during the copa america.
no idea what type of CM he is though. is he a Mctom replacement? Amrabat/Casemiro replacement?
Ugarte and another left field CM option in Rios id be over the moon with.

I’m pretty excited that these left field names are in the mix, it suggests that the scouting network is being used, and being listened to. Also no mention of de Jong so far!
