Another area where we are being a lot more sensible. Yoro will double his wages but that is fair enough as he's 18 and was on the last year of his contract at Lens and he's going to be a first team regular.
Antony was on around £25k a week at Ajax and somehow we end up paying him £200k a week?
Sancho had already got a huge pay increase at Dortmund on the back of a very good season (aka the Rashford treatment) in summer 2020 and then a year later we almost double his wages again even though his final season at Dortmund was less productive.

If you remember back to the Sancho deal, he was one of the most sought after young players in the world at the time and the feeling was we had to offer a ridiculous package to be able to tempt him over to United.
That has obviously backfired as he’s not very good and we’re struggling to get rid of him because of the money he’s on.

Getting rid of Casemiro and McTominay and replacing them with Zubimendi and Fofana/Ugarte would be ideal.

Just watched the 20min long interview with Yoro, He speaks perfect English which I didn't know, says he spoke with Rio (he called a legend) 2 weeks ago about United and it really helped him make the decision to join us. Says he was a striker/forward growing up, and loved Nani as he was compared to him. Said OT was the best stadium in the world, so clearly a liar Angel Gomes also sold the club to him hugely. Overall, seems well happy to be here, a well balanced, well spoken young lad. He looks like he'll be really good for us, i just hope in 5-6 years time he doesn't screw us over and decide to leave for Madrid for free. But i guess that will all depend on the teams success whilst he's here.

We are being heavily linked with Mazraoui at Bayern. We wanted him before he signed for Bayern on a free. Can play right and left back.
15 - 20 million euros bayern would supposedly take. Pretty sure he was injured quite abit last season

If this price tag is true then we can move on from him for now. Ugarte and/or Rabiot should be the focus then...

I’m not loving the midfield movements so far.

I’m not loving the midfield movements so far. Looks to me like we are showing that we aren’t just pursuing one target and if the selling club is being daft then we have alternatives… Sounds like sensible business to me…

We have a tight budget this year so how we strengthen in midfield will be dictated by progress on player sales.
Erik is reportedly keen to keep Scotty and no one seems willing to meet our £40m asking price. Juventus and Dortmund can't afford Sancho and while the interest from PSG is promising they are interested in Nico Williams as well and probably other alternatives. Casemiro doesn't seem to want to leave and the Saudi exit option doesn't appeal to every player while his wages put him out of reach of European clubs.
We should really sign Rabiot. That way if we fail to raise enough money for Ugarte or identify a suitable cheaper alternative then we can spend what's left of our budget on De Ligt. Rabiot is very experienced and athletic and technically superb and players like Mainoo and Collyer will benefit from playing alongside him and he might also help us get another season out of Casemiro if we can't shift him this summer.
And as we play 3 in midfield then even if we do make a big sale and manage to buy Ugarte as well there will be plenty of games for everyone and we will have more of an opportunity to rest Bruno and Mainoo and rotate a bit more and have more tactical flexibility.

'Erik ten Hag believes the signing of Noussair Mazraoui could help unlock the potential of Antony.'
This is the sort of shit that still gives me very little faith in EtH (if true of course).

I’m not sure waiting to sell deadwood in order to fix the biggest weakness in the team (CDM) is the cleverest strategy.
