It was a pen all day long. Studs up, caught his foot, didn’t play the ball. Don’t know how people can’t see that. Spain are better tactically but I’d say our forward players are superior Didn't he get his shot away and the ball blew over the cross bar before he touched Kane? I was with a bunch of England fans in a pub and nobody thought that was a penalty I popped into the kitchen to stick the kettle on after the shot flew over. Have to say, I was stunned when I came back and the ref was at the monitor.

Regardless of when he kicked Kane. But it was actually as Kane was shooting. He was late with studs up and didn’t touch the ball. It’s a foul whatever way you look at it, inside the box or not. No way thats a penalty , Dumfries (i think it was him) just contested for the ball , not sure what else a defender is supposed to do ? stand aside and let Kane score ? All of us will be screaming for the referees blood if it was Liverpool getting a similar decision against us.

England were the better team but Southgate being Southgate they didn't really press their advantage so they probably did require the soft penalty. Anyway no one will remember the last minute equalizer against Slovakia or the soft penalty against Netherlands (well besides the fans and players and coaches of the losing countries). Nor will they remember yet another ridiculously favourable draw for Southgate. All they will remember is back to back European championship finals and if Southgate gets lucky and beats Spain they will never forget it!
We just need Erik to get his act together and be the coach we all know he can be. Because a year from now if the end of season review goes badly and we have another disappointing season then INEOS might not be able to resist appointing Sir Gareth regardless of whether he wins on Sunday or not.

All of us will be screaming for the referees blood if it was Liverpool getting a similar decision against us. It was a clear-cut penalty according to the letter of the law. The rules state that any player can be penalized for a manner that "threatens injury to an opposing player" while attempting to win the ball. It was deemed “reckless” (eg no thought for the outcome in relation to Kane’s safety) which is why Dumfries was cautioned. Yes, it seems harsh, but as I said earlier in the thread it would have been a foul if out on the field and therefore should also be a foul inside the box.

We have gone from Iceland 2016 to a World Cup semi and now back to back euro finals. I don’t give a fuck what people think about Southgate because that alone is a minor miracle. You can debate about luck he’s had etc but at the end of the day as fans he’s given us so many “moments” that you and your friends can talk/ reminisce about for years to come. He took over a side hated by most and moulded them into a very likable squad for 6 years now. Most importantly he seems to have made that shirt a little lighter to wear. Hopefully the FA will reward him with a new 5 year contract. 2 year by the looks of it

I 💯 do not want southgate as United manager. I think international management suits him and he’s not got it ti be a club manager at our level. That being said though reading through the comments on here of the holland game is actually funny. He’s made the subs ppl on here were calling for, won with those subs and still people people are weighing up their options if they want England to win on Sunday. Behave.
You don’t have to be part of this. If you want to be miserable cunts and not support your national team have at it. But don’t be in here loving life if we actually win on Sunday.

He is definitely better suited to International management but his in game management is terrible… Yes he sometimes makes the substitutions we want but he’s always about 15 minutes too late with them and we end up just getting away with it…I just hope his luck lasts… I will be watching, supporting and stressing as usual…. Let’s win this thing!!!

Sound like Liverpool fans, it’s cringe.

You're painting yourself as the 'top fan'

You're painting yourself as the 'top fan' Apples and oranges. Under erik we had our worst domestic season in over 20 years. Southgate is Englands most successful manager in 60 years. Just the fact you’re comparing the two kind of validates my point lol.

He's just had more cracks at it and still failed.

Just people pointing out that despite being in the final, we haven’t actually played that great.
