Special mention goes to Onana after yesterday for his positioning for Salah’s goal. Fucker was opening his body up for roughly half an hour before the strike and Onana was over the other side of the goal. The other two goals weren’t his fault (makes a change), but his distribution was shambolic as usual. He’s no better than De Gea with his feet. Genuinely think he’s bordering on our worst first team keeper of my lifetime and that takes some doing with Roy Carroll being in the conversation. Yeah he’s gotten away with that because of how shit the rest was. I’ve said before, it’s not the clear howlers that concern me, it’s how many stoppable shots get past him. He’s the lowest-quality player in our starting 11.

Might be being a bit optimistic but I can’t see Southgate being in the reckoning. If he is then INEOS will have undone any good work they’ve done so far. We’d be boring as fuck under Southgate, but I’d bet anything that teams wouldn’t be walking through our midfield. At least he can organise a fucking team. Not sure what the fuck we’re up to from one minute to the next under Erik. Replacing one crock of shit for another is not the way forward

I've never been a fan of Onana (as in while hes been here) - Another one of ETH's Ajax mates getting a job.

There is a basically a whole new coaching team as well so I am baffled as to what the fuck is going on here.
I dont buy this nonsense around ETH not having a style of play, it has been going around since Ole's time, same drivel from the media. You can clearly see what he is trying to do. The problem is that it is not working! but your man is super rigid and sticking with it. Not sure what happened to the year 1 ETH because he adapted and we went on a run in the league.
It is clear that he needs players with energy to play this system hence why we are very hard to play against with Mount in the side, as useless as he is going forward, his pressing is insane. Now that he is out of the side ETH has no backup option, no ideas, nothing...
I also dont buy the argument that Slot has a system 3 games in, of course, but he inherited a team that was used to winning and challenging. We have a team of cry babies. I think everyone wanted the team that came out yesterday to start, on paper it looks the strongest team, but I am sure he probably had no choice but to play the 11 that started (maybe Amad for Rashford) but the bench is so thin. The only area we are stocked now is Defense which is ironic cause of what happened last season.
Anyway expectations have come down like a rock now for the 10th season running after. We are a team stuck in mid table mediocrity. Might as well get used to it.

He needs more time. The form will come.
How many more years will be needed to get this form to show?

I think that is harsh. He was highly rated in the Inter team and to be honest back end of last season he was much better than he started. Let's not forget how bad De Gea was when he joined, I am sure everyone wanted VDS out of retirement at that point.
I think the only mate that got the job based on reference is Antony. He was hardly lighting the Eredivisie on fire was he.

Not sure whether it's been put on here but I heard a quite remarkable stat yesterday...
Since SAF retired, Liverpool have been on average 10 points a season better than us...
While he was in charge of us, we were 17 points on average better than the scousers...that's a 27 point swing...

De Gea was 19 and didn’t speak English. And by the end of his first season had made a couple of the best saves of all time.

Lindegaard and Carroll both definitely worse, but Onana still doesn't feel like an upgrade on DDG to me. If the transfer window has gone as well as it looks on paper, then goalkeeper could be one of our priorities next year.

Yeah we need to fuck this constant Dutch connection off with signing players aswell. Just haven't either been good enough or have regressed since they were signed. With the exception of Licha.
