Been thinking this for a while aswell but I honestly don't think Bruno should have the armband either. Absolutely love the guy and it's nothing against him. But for me we need a leader on the pitch that will organise those around him. Especially from the back where the organisation is completely out of sync atm. Don't think Bruno does enough of that. Do think Licha would be a better option. Think having the armband will give him the voice to do that. De Ligt would be a standout for this if he remains fit and if his performances are up to scratch. He was a standout leader from being a teenager. Having said that, why does someone need an armband to organise a team? It’s not Bruno’s job to organise the back-line. Martinez hasn’t been fit anywhere near enough to warrant being in contention at this stage.

De Ligt isn't a bad option but he's just come into the team. Don't need to be a leader to organise but 9/10 if there's a leader in the team they're usually the captain. Might not be Bruno's job to organise the defence but he's there to lead the team. The way that defence was yesterday a captain would be screaming at them to sort their shit out. Keane being a perfect example. It's far from the biggest issue to be concerned with atm anyway but something that came up recently.

Roy Keane recently said himself that you don’t need an armband to organise a team. You could see Martinez telling Casemiro where he needed to be after the first goal. So he’s already occupying that role. Unfortunately Casemiro didn’t listen. There’s not yet a better proven option than Bruno.

Sounds like Slot has more tactical planning and application of a style of play in two months than ETH has had in over two years. Any time he gets questions about tactics he deflects. Harry fucking Potter.

The issue is with the manager. He seems incapable of communicating what he wants from his players so is it any wonder we often play like a bunch of strangers ?
When a manager has a clear idea about how he wants to play then the role of senior players is to help implement that vision on the pitch and we have players capable of doing that.
But if the manager doesn’t have a clue then you cannot expect senior players to be player managers that’s asking too much of them.
Anyway I don’t think Erik has long left it’s obvious that he’s out of his depth and is completely lost.
Players probably realise that too and that uncertainty along with all the new faces doesn’t make for an easy start to the season

We've won 5 out of thr last 17 Premier league games.
Since that battering at Anfield we've won 37 out of 77 games.
13 draws, 27 losses.
Grim as fuck.

A 9/10 window will not compensate for a 1/10 manager.
Ratcliffe has to make a decision immediately.
