We beat the bottom club in the league, it’s not an achievement it’s a relief. We won and comfortably...
geez some folks with constant negatives ...
I'm partially with you on this. It was comfortable, but only after we went 2 up and they dropped off. Until then we were shit. In fact even after the 2nd goal most of it was like watching paint dry. Just don't see an identity with us on the pitch at all and it's concerning. We seriously have a long way to go before positivity is going to be a welcome thing here. I prefer to focus on positives if possible but even I'm struggling to find them, they've worn everyone out so can see why it's reserved. Granted it was a much needed 3 points and good to see a clean sheet aswell. But it needs to be repeated to give people something to be positive about otherwise it's just papering over cracks until the next dreary result.

I get that, there is so much negativity when it comes to United even in the MSM. Liverpool lost yesterday yet nothing much made of it, for us, every loss is like everything is going to come crashing down.
We controlled the game yesterday. We conceded 6 shots yesterday, it is becoming a trend even if the results havent been positive. We apparently only had 3 games last season where we conceded less than 10 shots at our goal. Onana had 1 save to make and then the penalty. Even when we were not in control, defensively it is looking better. Just need to keep these guys fit. Southampton had no shots on United's goal after the penalty which is just total dominance. Eriksen was good yesterday, he sprayed passes around from deep after so much negativity with him starting the game.
We need to get a run together and the next few games is the chance to do it. I pretty much expect Ugarte to feature at least 45m against Barnsley and probably start the next game.

Obviously it's fun to see Liverpool lose but the media not making a big deal of it isn't some conspiracy or evidence of a Liverpool love in. They are still very likely to challenge for the title. Losing 1 game unexpectedly at home to a lesser team is perfectly normal, United would do it every season during our dominant years; a Derby or Coventry or Sunderland would come along and snatch a 1-0/2-1 at OT. It didn't matter in the long run of things and would end up being 1 of only 2 losses at OT all season.
Liverpool would lose 4 or 5 of those a season back then and that's why more was made of it. Just like more is made of it now when it happens to United, because it's no longer the exception, and if we ever want to get back to actually winning things then consistently losing to shite at home has to end.
It's just weird to expect there to be some huge "Oh my God! Look at Liverpool!" because they lost 1 game, that they dominated, 1-0. If it happens again, then again, in the coming weeks, then the noise will get louder; but at the moment it's understandably and correctly, a "these things happen" shrug.

Slot acted like a smug asshole explaining our tactics like he’s some genius and then he got out-coached by Nuno. Forest deserved to win too. Fuck Slot.

These are all good points but they didn’t dominate Forest at all. Forest were comfortable for the entire second half.

I don’t think he came off as smug, I found it interesting. They asked him a question and he merely said some things he’d observed about our style of play this season vs last. He’ll stop doing that sort of thing because it’s just not how it works here, but I’d like to hear more genuine insight from managers and players when interviewed.

Literally did what he was signed to do and was only on the pitch for 20 minutes. No other club gets this level of incompetent, lazy journalism.

He couldn't have done much better than he did for the time he was on for, granted the game was done by then but you can only deal with what's in front of you at the time. If they want to focus on his forward play then there looking at the wrong player.

Three quarters of the defence went off injured around when he came on too, so was hardly a stable team he was making his debut in.
Didn’t really warrant any comment or analysis his performance. For supporters it should just be relief that he’s signed and playing and for journalists just a note that he made his debut. You couldn’t take anything more than that from it.

He was good in this game, shame he didnt cap it off with a goal. There was one move where he was marked on all sides and first time receiving the pass played it through the legs of the Southampton player, then making a good pass out to Amad wide.
I dont think he will score 30+ goals a season but I can see how he can provide assists and bring other players in.

Twitter is awash with people that have already written Zirzkee off after 4 games. We have one of the worst fanbases on social for trashing our own, especially new or young players. Really is pathetic.
