Decent win in the end after that dodgy start.

Not getting carried away. Its one win. But a much needed one. They need to build on this now. No backward steps. Start being more ruthless in front of goal. Should have put at least 5 past this lot today.

Thought we were good after their penalty miss (Dalot is shit). Unlucky not to score more.
Anyway, a win, hopefully some more confidence boosting goals to come midweek.

Once we get Ugarte and Garnacho starting along with Rasmus, we’ll have a decent team. The money we paid for De Ligt and Maza already looks a ridiculously good deal.

Thought his general play was improved today, but still doesn’t look great in front of goal, Zirkzee.
Two goals and an assist so far for Garnacho. Had that unlucky one ruled out at Brighton too. Positive start for him.

I would drop Rashford (despite his genuinely very good goal today) for Garnacho, but I expect it's Amad who he will drop, which is a shame as he makes defenders shit themselves several times a game and his final ball, whilst inconsistent, can be very good.

Let's be honest this is a good result. Southampton had 0 points from the first 3 games but they were unlucky in those games, they were close, dominated possession. So to win 3-0 is brilliant.
Also credit where its due, Onana won us this game, he had a super save early on and then the penalty, it turned the game and after that we just dominated and could have won 4 or 5 nil. No shots on our goals after the penalty incident.
Part of our problem in the last few games and early on in this one is passing, we gave the ball away way too often, that just put pressure on that midfield. Once we got clicking, their players couldnt come near us.
Zirkzee is class, for a tall lad, his touches and link up play is so good, shame he didnt get his goal. This team now has to start going forward bar Ugarte for Eriksen.
I dont know why everyone still getting their panties in a bunch that Ugarte didnt start. He flew halfway around the globe and played twice for Uruguay and then flew back. He came a day after everyone else. Of course he didnt start and some on here thinking that ETH didnt want him and hates him?? Just silly talk, all I heard so far from ETH is good stuff about Ugarte, even the comments after today's game.
Some of these nonsense that come up after we lose is just over the top... all quite when we win well.
