Itâs funny how players not trying hard enough is something you only ever really see thrown at us.
I honestly donât think any player goes out there thinking âFuck it, I canât be arsed.â A malaise sets in due to shit, uninspiring coaching that just leaves everybody looking lost.
And if these players really arenât trying, maybe we employ a manager with enough about him who simply wonât stand for a lack of effort.

All the âtop redsâ like goldbridge should fuck off as well. Saying we werenât real fans if we didnât back him after the cup Why go goldbridge? Weâve got kingkobbie and harvin here đ That 7 goal result took some straight over the moon. Weird

It is up to the manager to drop players if they don't give 100% effort or don't follow tactical instructions. The new Chelsea manager has the right idea:
âListen, we have Jadon, Joao â these kinds of players. Before they joined the club, I had a chat with them, and one of my messages to them was âIf you come here and donât work properly, then you are not going to playâ.
Of course it is easier when you have a squad of 42 players. But we've got more depth this season as well as some youngsters coming through such as Amass and Collyer.
Probably too late now. I don't think the players ever really respected Erik and they certainly don't fear him. And they have probably already started to down tools. And the unfortunate consequence of INEOS's U-turn last summer is they didn't fool anyone and the players all know that it won't take much for Erik to get the sack.
Although I think fergiegivesusawave raises a good point. When the manager gets the game plan and tactics wrong to the point we get easily outplayed and overrun then even honest professionals can develop a defeatist attitude and lose their fight and spirit.

Players in the past could have survived more than 2 minutes after halftime but these players just didn't do basic fundamentals like going with runners, especially with 10 men. Just stay in the game and there's a fair chance you might have got a chance from a set piece or something but no. I don't like Ten Hag, the teams a shambles period but no way the players are doing their jobs. Dalot was fucking shocking today and Garnacho, Mainoo, Fernandes were all total bollocks today. Just didn't turn up. The players need to show abit of personality.

So heâs ultimately responsible when Dalot fails to track a player to the backpost for the billionth time.

They're a different generation of players with different values and ethics than their predecessors. That doesn't excuse them. State of mind, ethics, values, heart and good old fashioned stubborness not egoism but stubborness the ability to keep going even when all is lost, the mindset of not giving anyone a reason to say i beat you or you're shit or just the meer thought of loosing or not giving it you're all driving shivers down ones spine, is no where to be found in this generation of players. I see it my kids at times and they're in their 20's if something is hard or they can't be assed they just toss it in and i'm like what the fuck is going on with you???
Im in my 50s and i still have work my ass off to survive like i did when i started working at 15 and that's on an average wage giving up or not turning up is not in my psychology or ethic, so what's their excuse being half my age and making millions doing what i never had the chance, infrustructure and opportunities they do playing for the biggest club in the world? The manager can scream and shout and coach and develope till they're blue in the face that won't change the mentality of someone who can't look within themselves and asses themselves and do what is necessary to pick themselves up and move forward that's called progress. There's none of that with this lot.

There's none of that with this lot. Don't really want to sound like an old fart here but I agree somewhat lol. The Sancho situation is a perfect example of what you just said. Its really frustrating because most of these players are from working class backgrounds, them and their families have probably had to sacrifice alot to be where they are. The problem with players today in my opinion is that they're effectively robots and can't manage their own careers. They have to be told exactly what to do and when to do it. They're not encouraged to think for themselves either and fucking agents ain't helping by encouraging them to promote themselves on social media. There's not one leader among that group of players. Nobody is vocal unless it's to a referee.

Too bad with Bruno suspended we will have to put up with 3 games of Mason Mount (assuming he can last that long without getting injured). Frustrating because I'd like to see a 4-2-3-1 with Zirzkee behind Hojlund.

I'm usually one to call for calm, but honestly hope we act faster than expected here. This is going nowhere.
Would really prefer some exciting football and a season that isn't a total waste by the time we get to December.
