Lest we all forget the Europa League is very much a league now. And with 2 points from 2 games and a goal difference of precisely zero we must be sitting in the bottom half of the table. And this competition was supposedly our best route to Champions League football next season.
And another sobering thought is that this Porto team lost to Bodo/Glimt the other week. They've got some talented players for sure but they are also a bit chaotic. And this is the same week that Villa beat Bayern and Arsenal beat PSG.

Nothing to celebrate there. Threw away a win after being 2 up.
Hopefully the owners aren’t dumb enough to be swayed by that equaliser or indeed any result we may get against Villa.

Southgate will never be a viable option, that said a draw was a terrible result although credit to Maguire for getting a valid equaliser and defending well when he came on as sub.
3-3 against a side equivalent to a UK championship side full of youngsters with a squad wage bill of approx 30 million a year is not what is expected from our squad of pampered over rated over paid posuers.

This is the third time this season we've conceded three goals. And we've played less than a dozen games.
You can give Erik a bit of a pass when it comes to attack because INEOS haven't really invested much in that area and players like Garnacho, Amad, Hojlund, Zirzkee are still a bit raw.
But we shouldn't be conceding this many goals when INEOS have given Erik three new defenders (admittedly one of them injured) and a fantastic number 6 who he refuses to start.
