I have a good feeling about this guy and I don’t know why I do it to myself after so many shit years. He’s not even managed a game yet and I’m starting to believe! Why do I do it? #BeardIsBest I'm in the same boat. I'm seriously trying to keep it to a normal level but something about him and the management team he is coming in under makes hard to not be excited.

Just watched the interview.
I have full confidence in Ruben he comes across as a mixture of ole and Fergie
The everybody’s mate vibes who is happy to be here plus soaking up our history and traditions(ole). The winning mentality and not standing for any shit off the players(Fergie).
Onwards and upwards.

"It's not the system or formation at Manchester it's the charterer of the players, the way they see the club so we have to focus on that. It's important for me first is to create the principal, identity, and the charterer that we had in the past" Not verbatim or the full quote , but this stuck out. This man actually gets it. Now my optimism is spiraling out of control

"What I can say is that I think you will see an idea. You will see a positioning. You will see something that we want to reach that kind of level."
This is what's been missing, and what I I want to hear.
Also: his English is excellent. Fuck off Cotterill.

Yeah I think he definitely has things that other managers before him didn't have.
He is incredibly driven and ambitious and determined to succeed. That "whatever it takes" mentality is exactly what we need. Jose was too quick to revert to type and blame the players. Erik was too quick to blame injuries, referees, the age composition of his squad and fall back on the "club in transition" mentality. Ole to his credit never made excuses but was always too happy to be here.
I also think that he understands that a lot of our issues are psychological. Most of our players are playing well below the levels they are capable of and as a team we are soft and easily go to pieces and don't have that swagger and confidence and aura of invincibility that pretty much all of Fergie's teams had. Even under Ruud when the pressure was off a bit performances improved.
And I also sense he is going to be pretty ruthless which is exactly what we need. Erik and Ole had their favourites who'd get picked no matter what. A lot of players were able to stay for many years simply because the Glazers were useless at selling players and Woodward had an obsession with "preserving value" extending contracts of players who'd done little to earn extensions and as our transfer business was consistently poor underperforming players never had to worry about being replaced.
He is the first manager to start under the INEOS setup. They aren't perfect by any means. But if they can work well with him then we should be able to upgrade our squad over the next few seasons and we also have a lot of super promising youngsters coming through the ranks and Amorim is good at developing youth.

It was all great, but I liked some of the little things that may have gone unnoticed, like when he's talking about the history, and Munich...he say's 'we' whereas a lot of other managers would say 'they'. He's already like, this is MY club

www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14096511/Ruben-Amorim-reduced-budget-Man-United.html Disappointing article from the Mail suggesting that Erik won't be given a massive war chest and will instead be expected to get more out of underperforming players. Erik was allowed to spend over £600m in his time at the club. And turned us into a midtable club. Yes Amorim will be able to get more out of the current squad and hopefully benefit from some promising young talent coming through but he will need to be given a lot of money as well to spend if he is going to get us back to the top of the game. Zirzkee is a perfect example of what happens when a cost conscious new ownership tries to operate within a tight transfer budget and get "value for money". That was an INEOS signing. Erik reportedly didn't want him at all.

I question everything tactically about ETH after seeing how the team played while Ruud was in charge. Amorim isn't a magician or striker whisperer but I'd like see how this plays out then make a judgment. Saying he didn't want a dutch player or a player played in Dutch league is a hard sell for me because almost everyone he signed was one or both

There’s a video on YouTube of Amorim’s first coaching session. What excites me most about it is that Mainoo, Shaw, Yoro and Mount are all heavily involved so therefore close to boosting the first team ranks.
