Ruben saying Utd gave him 3 days to decide. Either take it or leave it. That’s how big clubs operate. Last thing we needed was another caretaker manager.

Refuse to get my hopes up. This club is a million miles from Sporting. Just hope he's up for the job and gives us something to shout about. If he can make us at least enjoy the football we see, win lose or draw then I'll take that as a win

Should be interesting at the very least, good luck to you Beard. At the very least, it’s a change, and we needed that

At the very least there is going to be a new manager bounce and it is going to be exciting to see a manager with an actual plan and there should be identifiable changes in our tactics, approach to games, style of play etc. He's also very charismatic so press conferences and seeing him in the dugout is going to be fun especially if he retains Ruud.
If he fails it will probably be down to the players and failures in recruitment. Three years down the line we should have an exciting crop of youngsters coming through as INEOS have been stocking up on 15, 16 and 17 year olds.
But for now we are stuck with a core of senior players such as Martinez, Rashford, Bruno, Dalot who have been poor so far this season and jury is still out on De Ligt, Zirzkee and Ugarte and Mazraoui (although early days and difficult for them coming in when the team was so obviously on a downward spiral). So I think a lot depends on whether Amorim can get more out of them and for how long and whether he is able to influence recruitment to make sure INEOS bring in players with the right quality, the right attitude that are well suited to the way Amorim wants to play.
But it is good that we finally have a head coach (I hate that term!) that INEOS chose and will give full support to make the necessary changes to turn our fortunes around.

Don’t forget this is the first managerial appointment made by football minded people in 38 years who are at the game week in week out and not by a banker on behalf of those blood sucking leeches in Florida. It may or may not work out but I have more optimism due to the fact Ruben is working for people who actually know the game itself and not people who only care about how much the club can line their pockets.

Isn't that one of the reasons why he was appointed? Can't say I know anything about that because I don't follow European football as intensely anymore. Saying that, there's a huge difference between a league with 3 established clubs who win most things and the PL where its a bloody slog just getting in the top 6 these days. All the top sides in the PL have quality coaches now. I hope he's strong enough mentally to cope with the expectations because they're absolutely massive here. Also remember that everything being said about this guy were said about Ten Hag.
