At last, the transfer logjam over Super Eagles capped Nigerian teenage midfielder, John Obi Mikel, has been resolved and the player can now join Chelsea of England, Nigeriansportsonline.com has revealed exclusively. Findings at the former Plateau United’s family on Wednesday revealed that Mikel stepped into his career freedom last Saturday when the transfer feud between two English Premiership sides, Manchester United and Chelsea was resolved. Mikel had signed a contract in April 2005, on attaining 18 years, with Manchester United. But an obviously embittered John Ola Shittu, agent of the Silver Ball winning player at the 2005 World Youth Championship in Holland, claimed it was a ruse as the player personally claimed he signed the papers under duress.his claim sparked off a feud that has gone down in the records as one of the most celebrated transfer case in European football. Nigeriansportsonline.com reported that Lyn Oslo, Mikel’s Norwegian club, led by Morgan Andersen, its Sports Director, threw its weight behind Manchester United, saying that they made a clean deal and that the young Nigerian signed the contract documents out of his own free will. Your thoughts please on the Sega of the little boy with no mind..

The boy said he wasn't happy signing for UTD claimed he signed the papers under duress (meaning that he only signed, and can't be held responsible for signing with because he forced to do so through fear) But he looks pretty happy to me here gfx.dagbladet.no/pub/artikkel/4/45/455/455323/mikelvedlog.jpgI just think for whatever reason be it money or wanting to sit on the bench at Chesea and pick up 50k a week, he decided to sign for them and wriggled out of it. I don't want a player like that, Chelsea will though, he's more there sort of player, I hope they get him and Ballack, he doesn't give a toss either!

I just wonder if that guy in the jacket behind him has a gun or very sharp object pointed into Mikel's back Can't believe Fifa, uefa or whoever is dealing with this will let Chelsea get away with this.

If the story was true it wouldn't be only a mickey mouse sports paper from Nigeria knowing about it. Would it?

I doubt it.. the English papers and rest of the media seem to know nothing about it and i find that hard to believe.

At this point, Mikel isnt going to be much good. He hasnt played competative football for 5 months now and it's going to take a while to get match fit. I wonder if he goes to Chelsea whether he'll be match fit for another few years! lol.
Chelsea have Lampard, Makelele, Essien, and soon Ballack... why on EARTH this kid wants to join them is beyond me, but fair do's. We've got a contract with his name on it, so Chelsea best make it worth our while ;D

Well, just because he says he wants to sign for Chelsea, doesn't mean he wants too, being held at gunpoint can do a lot to sway your decision, just thinking maybe that had a little something to do with it A Little harsh there maybe..

i think theres huge misunderstandings goin on here, and stuff we jus dont understand.. sure, any of u, were u given the opportunity to sign for utd, u would do, in a heart beat. and thats how mikel felt, with utd bein such a big club over there.. he wanted to play for utd.
not sayin cos hes 18 it means he has the right to act like a child.. but u forget wot kinda influences ppl can have on u. if u were 18 and signed for one firm.. and ur parents are tellin u to sign for another, someone who is very close to u and who u trust (like his agent) is sayin the same thing, and ur getting death threats about it.. and ur gonna earn more money at the other firm, then u'd say u want to sign for them..
im not trying to make excuses for the lad.. but i dont think theres any need to completely over react and look at the whole thing jus from one pov.
if he ends up at utd he'll play jus as well for us as he would for chelsea, so lets jus wait and see wot happens.

Whoever he does eventually go to i highly doubt we'll find out whether he actually wants to be there or not for a fairly long time.

what i think he has done is looked at Chelsea's millions and thought about the pay out, rather then the playing side, but some to United and you will have a chance of playing. Look at SWP, he is gonna struggle now to get back to full form after affectivly losing a year at Chelsea
