Ruud to stay. He is vital to our assaults on domestic and European trophies, without him there isn't a real goal poacher in our squad, and there is no replacement that could be signed. Chelsea have just signed Shevchenko for £30m if that's the case Ruud should be priced at £40m, that is how much I value this guy!

I think he's still got it, you don't lose it over night. He's always been put on a pedastel by Fergie and this season he's been taken off it for more than one reason. Ruud got the Hump, United are more important then any player and Ruud knows it. The only beef I have with Ruud were his lack lustre displays firstly against the Scousers and then Sunderland. Should he go NO ! Will he go MORE THAN LIKELY !

if he goes, we need a 20-30 goals a season man to "replace" him. That wont happen, glazer wont give us money for a couple of midfielders as well as a Torres/ Adriano/ Toni etc.
We will struggle using just Roon, saha, smudge, Rossi and Solskjaer next season

I think if he is motivated by a good world cup performance and United makes the investment in decent signings in the midfield he should be kept. Despite his lackluster performaces this season he still ended up being the second leading goal scorer, that has to count for something. We're not talking about an older player who has completely lost his form, so for now we should keep him and start looking for another striker with similar qualities down the line. Losing Ruud right now witth still a midfield to build seems too much of an undertaking if we seriously want to contend for the title.

its quite simple really RUUD MUST STAY!!!
Given the chance, next season, he will surely prove why he is a 30 - 40 goals a season player and not just your average 20+ goals player who are two a penny!

Some great replys guys...
I was expecting everyone to say Ruud out, what if we were to replace him with someone, would you prefer that??
If so, who would you replace him with??
Me thinks Torres??

wouldn't 'swap' him!
Not for anyone, and wouldnt sell either, at any price.
there are many great players around. but none are available - all just hypothetical ie ronaldinho etc.
we know already Ruud can score 40 goals in a season, doubt any potential signing could offer more than 25.

I dont know whether he should stay or go.
But one thing's for certain, he deserves better than how SAF has treated him recently.
This whole thing resembles the transfer of Beckham, the best player we have suddenly gets shunned by the management, and is apparently bad for moral...

This whole thing resembles the transfer of Beckham, the best player we have suddenly gets shunned by the management, and is apparently bad for moral... Well shunning a player is sure a quick way of killing morale, but if Fergie sees something that we don't then I'm not going to second guess his decision I just hope that it is something valid and not personal. I agree that right now there isn't anyone available that would be a strong replacement for Ruud. I think most of us would probably feel more comfortable with a player that is proven in the Prem, but that doesn't leave much in the way of options. I feel that the best plan is to build the mid-field which will in turn provide more service for Ruud, and that way we might see more of the 40+ goals we know he can deliver....ok maybe that's a stretch but 20+ I'm sure...

I think, no...I KNOW Fergie knows best for the club and will do so.
Look at Beckham...we sold him, doom and gloom...then a young starlet from some club in portgual comes along and lights up the premiership.

I certainly hope that we get more than 8mil if he's sold....Sheva signed for 30mil and there's no way Ruud is that less a talent.

i dont want Rudd to go, he is a great player and will score many next season, but now AC Minal will be targeting him after the loss of Sheva , even though they say they r gonna use the money to bid for stevie gerrard

I fear that the relationship with Ruud may be beyond repair. Once there is a rift like the one between Fergie and Ruud, It very rarely works out the player stays. Obviously, Sir Alex isn't going anywhere. I therefore think it is obvious that Ruud will leave.
